WEEK 3.
As the second week draws to a close, two more have joined the deceased. Christo and Alani are dead, leaving twenty-six of you remaining. It may not seem like very many have died, but their absence will certainly be felt. Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Just like last week, a door in the stairwell has opened, leading you down further into the building; there are more rooms open to you down there - possibly even one that you'll find personally interesting. Go ahead and explore all you like; after all, you did well at completing your lessons this past week. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 25 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week three of Trustfell! Feel free to make as many top levels as you'd like and tag out to other characters! This post is for all of your interactions this week... at least until the weekend. Don't forget to save those threads for coins and the activity check!
If you'd like to get in contact with the Wordsmith, you can do so through letters or the switchboard!]

She wonders if when they die here, if they go to her bar, or his Truth, or if they go somewhere else, or maybe nowhere at all.
She's not really sure she wants to know. ]
If it works for you, it works for you. Most people are happy thinking they're going somewhere after everything they've been through.
[ Most people'd prefer the better approach, obviously, but not everyone's a saint; everyone has some sin in them, and some of those are heavier than others, but even then, it's not like they can't still get a good ending. ]
...And I don't suppose you've ever thought about what or who you might've been before you were you.

It's not permanent for us, but it still affects other people, and sometimes that gets talked about for a lot longer than we expect it to. [ Legends, stories, all of that. But: ] You're not wrong though, overall. Most of us aren't going to be remembered in the long run.
[ ............ ]
You might be though. [ Mr. "Prime Example of Why We Shouldn't Conscript People Like This Into The Army" ] Not for any good reason though. While we're being honest with each other.

[...]
Let's say that I'm not the worst person that our military has conscripted.

You're joking, right. [ buddy. you're pretty bad, my man. ]

can't believe the whole army gets to go to the void- no i've legitimately seen enough 2003 fma to know that that's not actually surprising at all]...You know, given what you said on ghost story night, I don't feel like I should be as surprised as I am. [ But those were just stories, right. ...Right?
She feels like she's gotten into an unfortunate habit of asking him things she doesn't know that she wants the answer to, but curiosity is as curiosity compels. ] ...Even if they were just stories, right, and not actually based on anything that ever actually happened.

The story about Xerxes, the country that just disappeared...that's been in our oral history for a long time, but no one knows how true it is.
Shou Tucker - the man who created a talking chimera using his dog and his wife - was arrested some time after me; I wasn't supposed to have communication with anyone, but the guards talked sometimes, and if they were careless they'd do it where I could hear. And everyone was talking about what he did. Supposedly he did it again, using his kid - that's what he was arrested for, someone found out.
Barry the Chopper, same thing. Arrested sometime after me, people talked, I heard.
The inhuman thing wearing Basque Grand's face actually happened, and like I said, I witnessed it; I just changed some details around. Human transmutation actually works like that, too.
[He pauses for a moment, though, once all that's out there.]
And I know for a fact that the red water under Laboratory Five - the stuff that they use for human sacrifices, to rip death row convicts' souls out? That's also true, and I know about it because that's where I was brought to die. I used my alchemy to destroy the holding room that was surrounded by those walls that were filled it; that's how I got out of prison, I blew up the execution chamber and escaped.

...You've got some pretty careless guards and one messed up world.
[ Not that hers is objectively better, except—no, wait, it pretty much is, by virtue of not having soul-ripping human sacrifice. Or people who merge their dog and their kid. Or anything in Amestris, ever. ]
If you'd been waiting to die, then— [ ...granted, one's soul being torn out doesn't seem like such a feel-good time, but— ] then why'd you break out? If you don't mind me asking, or think it's a stupid question.

I was entirely fine dying in there, but the problem was that there were a bunch of us all together - it wasn't done individually.
So I was sitting on the floor, waiting for whatever was going to happen, when some guy started hassling me. He called me some stuff that I didn't care about, and then he decided it was a good idea to say that he didn't believe all the stories about my alchemical skill. Called me a fraud, said that I probably wasn't anywhere near as powerful as the stories said.
So I got up and gave him a demonstration.
no subject
...You really are terrible. And petty.
[ Nothing really bothers him except getting called a fraud about the one thing that he actually likes doing. ...she gets that, she can imagine she'd be pretty ticked if someone said that about her skating. before the whole. yeah. Not enough to kill a guy, but you know what, they're just going to have to live with their differences and be happy with it. ]
You could've just ignored him—you know he was just trying to get your goat. [ ... ] He probably thought you'd just punch him or something, not... that.
no subject
[...And that as well seems incredibly straightforward; he's not trying to make excuses, he just...legitimately doesn't see a difference.]
no subject
It doesn't, but it's the principle of the matter. Being the bigger person. Not blowing up all your problems.
[ ...But if he hadn't, they wouldn't be having such delightful talks like this. And she's not really in any shape to talk, considering her method of dealing with things. ]
