WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[There aren't any more notes on the shelves themselves! It does look like there might be something pressed up behind some of the books, though.]

But there is a small compartment there that you've managed to get open, good job! It isn't terribly deep, just enough to be noticeable and have a reasonably small space behind it.

Looks like there's something glinting in there. Silver.]

[That may be a little while. It's not terribly long before she's cried herself out, but that doesn't stop her from gasping and breathing heavily, like even though she's run out of tears to cry she can't stop the action itself. She just can't stop feeling sad, and mourning. She hugs tight to Estelle and...through uneven breaths, she gasps out:]

S-sorry... I'm sorry- s-sorry, I-I'm so s-sorry...!

[ Well then. He'll try to take a gander at this object that is pressing up against those books, and move anymore books out of the way that could be blocking the whole thing from sight if necessary. What is he looking at, exactly? ]

[It looks like a silk flower - the decorative sort that you'd put on clothes or in your hair. It's pink and kind of cute?]

[ I can't believe Viktor Nikiforov caused us to bad end.

He reaches for the glinting thing and takes it out of the cabinet. What is he looking at here? ]

[It looks like you've found a key - it doesn't look like a room key, either, the cut of it is different, and it's on a silver chain. Long enough to wear around someone's neck with no problem.]

[ It really is cute! He'll take it.

... As tempted as he is, he'll resist putting it in his hair for now, but it's probably easier if he puts it on his clothes so he doesn't lose it. Well, it looks like he's done here (and with the whole investigation) if there's nothing else in the shelves? ]

[It's got a little pin on the back of it, so attaching it to your clothes will be no problem!

[ That he'll check that out for sure. He's not the tallest at 5'8, so if he needs to he'll stack the mats on top of each other to get a better look at the vents. First he'll just give them a once-over to see if there's anything off about them, and if not he'll try to pull at them just to check if they're loose by chance or something.]

It's not fair to compare yourself to me! If everybody did that, they'd be too discouraged to even try!

[he's not like an expert sarcasm-er or anything but he does his best.]

I'm trying to imagine you doing a cartwheel, but it's not really working.

[ Huh, how mysterious. Viktor studies the key for a moment before pocketing it.

Will he find anything else if he keeps investigating the bar, or is that all? ]

[They look like the sort of thing that could be unscrewed with the right tools.

That said, though, they aren't large enough for anyone here to fit through, including Judy and Nick, because apparently the Wordsmith has at least a little sense.]

[That's all in here, Viktor, you're good. o/ ]

[ Excellent. He rewards himself with a drink for a successful investigation before leaving the bar... and he completely forgets to put all those bottles he took off the shelves back. Oops? ]

I haven't gotten any weapons here, but I prefer my fists actually. [ The vending machine palazoo has not happened yet for him.]

Well he's a spirit, so it's not like he has to eat or breathe or anything.

[He LIKES to eat, but he doesn't have to.]

[He's honestly never really tinkered much in his life (he pays item merchants for that), but he at least recognizes that it'll take a tool of some kind to get the vents off. It's a shame about the size though, and seeing as he doesn't have anything on him he won't be able to pry the vent off it looks like.

That being said, he does try to peer into the vent best he can to see if he can spot anything.]

[ Just a regular day, hanging out over at the vending machine it seems. Well, he can't help but have his attention drawn to the other and say something at least. ]

Ah, what quite an unusual device this is. It will still take some time for me to get used to it.

Are these types of things common from where you've come?

[As soon as she opens the door, Watanuki is instantly worried. It's hard not to be, when she looks like that.]

Ahh... well, I'm no good with hand-to-hand unfortunately.

How about you teach me some pointers? I'm always glad to learn something new from you.

[ It's the truth... ]

[The question causes her bottom lip to tremble. The door opens just a touch wider, so it's clear that she's still in her pajamas, a hand clutched to her chest.]

I- I-I- [To most, it would probably sound like she's just stammering. But Watanuki, he will be able to tell there's something strange about her pronouns today. I, she said- boku, a strict departure from her usual watashi. Her hand trembles and she corrects herself.] I- I'm- R-Rika's--

[ Once he's heard the scream, Mikazuki rushes right into the vending machine room... even though he doesn't have a weapon, whoops. But he somehow intends to stop the killing from happening, even if he has to--

Oh.

Well then, he'll release a sigh, but with a bit of an amused smile. He certainly does notice the certain items on the floor, but first-- ]

My, my, you look like you are having the time of your life there. I hope I'm not intruding on your bonding time with your friend.

[...Oh. The big orange lady is complimenting him.]

...Do you know how to swim?
