WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. It's silly... I'm only like this because I've never been through half the things the rest of you have, back home. I don't know how any of you can handle this on top of it all; I wouldn't be half as strong...

[ Viktor reaches out to run his hand along Mugetsu's back. ]

He's so fuzzy... How did the two of you meet?

...That's good. I want to believe it won't become necessary for any of us, but I'm not that optimistic.

[ Surely Mikazuki is about to really tell her that's not really necessary and it won't help. That would be the logical, common sense of a response, right... ]

... That is quite an ingenious idea! I don't think anyone's thought of anything like that before, and I'm sure it'll help too.

It could be to throw off Sigma and I's power, but there's no way to tell.

[Well, the only thing to do now is to do it, right? So Judy shifts the arrow in her paw and lines it up, notching it in the string so she can pull back. It takes her a minute since the arrow keeps slipping down, but eventually she gets it.

She holds her position for a half-second before letting the arrow fly, clipping the upper right corner of the dummy with the arrow.]

[officerhops]

Most of them do, don't get me wrong! But...

[She gestures vaguely with her paws.]

You have some predators...or larger prey animals who think differently.

[officerhops]

That makes two of us.

[Judy huffs out a breath, wiping her brow with the back of her paw.]

So...do you work out like this, Viktor? I figure you would since you're a professional, and all.

[quadruples]

What kind of athlete would I be if I didn't? [ A short, amused laugh. ] I'm less strict with training since taking the season off, but I'm not going to neglect this beautiful body.

[quadruples]

He probably didn't even leave his room except to eat. What a loser.

...It's good that you're not used to such things, Sportacus. Don't think otherwise. You're living a life that those in the world of men should be. One more beautiful, and peaceful. It takes strength to live in that as well.

...You're in...such a horrible situation... [...She places a hand on Phi's shoulder.] I pray...that you remember something more fortuitous.

Ah, I...wanted to look for books on time travel. Gold-kun brought that up during the meeting, so I wanted to see if there was anything else I could find.

Thank you for telling me all of this, as well. I hope... I pray talking about it lifted some of the burden from your shoulders.

O-oh... Well... I haven't really been looking for such things, but I haven't found anything of the sort.

[She's been a fiction-only girl.]

Mmm. [His grin grew impish.] You should change that. Never know how long you are for this world, after all.

[ He just kind of makes a noise, because here is a demon who lived with a girl for hundreds of years and never really actually went out with her. But luckily, fate will give him a bit of a push here.]

[It may not have been a solid hit, but it was a hell of a lot better than he'd seen a lot of first timers do. He gave her a small round of applause, wearing a grin that might have been more befitting of a proud dad than just a friend.]
