WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[Hanyuu doesn't have the heart to tell him she doesn't believe arresting the Wordsmith is anywhere in the cards.]

Can you stand? [She'll offer him some help up, either way.]

[he nods and accepts her help, but isn't thinking clearly enough to make it not super obvious that he doesn't need it. after all, he's physically fine. always has been.]

It's silly... I'm only like this because I've never been through half the things the rest of you have, back home. I don't know how any of you can handle this on top of it all; I wouldn't be half as strong...

...It's good that you're not used to such things, Sportacus. Don't think otherwise. You're living a life that those in the world of men should be. One more beautiful, and peaceful. It takes strength to live in that as well.

[he looks oddly thoughtful about it. the world of men...]

It is... I hope I get to return to it. It's been just as hard to think about how worried all my friends must be. I don't like thinking that they might never know... [if he never does go back]

If you can just tell the children I'm sorry I won't be there for them anymore... I think that would be enough. I would be happy. If only I had my crystal, I would give it to Stephanie, but...

[a pause, and then said with considerable determination] If something happens to you, I will find Rika. And I will do whatever I can for her.

[She's quiet, and a little mournful. The discussion at hand, and thinking about...what could come to pass.

...Others know. She will let Sportacus live in merciful ignorance, right now.]

I thank you. She's... She deserves all the happiness in the world, and I know she would appreciate meeting you.

... Maybe, if it's still not safe for her in her own time... I could take her home. To mine.
