WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [ Orihime was on her way to the game room to get a deck of cards. She knew someone would be in here because it's the game room, and that someone happens to be Phi. ]

Hi, Phi-san! You're hard at work!

[officerhops]

[Judy's ears perk up straight when she hears a voice behind her, prompting her to turn around and look. She looks a little sheepish when she spots Sportacus standing there, quickly sweeping her ears back with her paw as she pants.]

Oh...heeey, Sportacus! Just uh...getting some pent-up energy out.

[And you know, latent rage.]

[firstaid]

If that were the case, then the Pokemon here would also be students, and I don't believe they are.

[firstaid]

You would think anything that would damage the throat or stomach would also damage your veins.

[Then again, medicine where she's from is the magic bullshit type.]

[Well, that definitely earns him a pout... Not how it was supposed to go even if it brings back memories. Her hand retreats back to her side.]

Once we're out of here? [She has to think on that.]

I was hoping it would be as simple as returning to my friends.

You could cover yourself up better for the desert heat and sun.

You could say that. I remembered something that... well, it was pretty bad.

But it doesn't completely make sense.

[introspects]

[ Ah...so that's what this is about. ]

[ Angela's death is a tragedy, but Viktor cannot help but feel a little more concerned about the group's continued survival now that they have lost their coroner. So he heads to the library to scope out the murder mystery novels; he isn't sure how much reading them would actually help him when it comes to examining a body, but it can't hurt to take notes.

When he spots Orihime, he doesn't approach immediately. Instead he leaves the library, returning a few minutes later with a piece of the cake he made yesterday. He wanders over to where she's sitting and sets down the plate on the table. ]

[firstaid]

We must and will find a way out that's not according to the rules, yet follows them at the same time.

[She agrees, and gives the bag another punch, but this time shakes her hand after she does. Oops, she didn't quite punch it right.]

[plentyfriendly]

Preventing it wasn't really an option. SHIFTing doesn't make the timeline I left just stop existing.

[Maybe she didn't explain it all that well.]

Can anyone really blame you, though? This place is a total mess that's practically designed to break us down.

[... wow this is actually deeply unsettling and he is uncertain how to properly approach this.]

Having fun? [don't ask. don't ask. don't--] Did you... make those?

[firstaid]

[She feels how tight Hanyuu is holding on and she can't bear that emotional pain. How much Hanyuu holds on her shoulders and how much she really bears for the people everywhere.]

It's not your burden to bear. I understand that you're a god, but... here we're all equally responsible to save and protect one another as well as ourselves.

[plentyfriendly]

I guess I was mostly thinking about quantity. Do you have vaccines where you're from?

[introspects]

[ Good on Viktor, honestly. Orihime's way of coping is by making these...whatever these are to get her mind off of everything that's happening. The usual spunk she carries with her appears to be gone, even as she looks up at Viktor when he leaves the cake beside her. She stops what she's doing and looks up at him. ]

...Thank you.

[introspects]

I don't mind. Go ahead, Phi-san.

[firstaid]

I think that's a wonderful ending if that were the case. Yes, she loved him for who he is, and now that he realized he could love in return, his heart and now his appearance match. It's symbolic of how he's purified his heart and found love!

[Clearly they could have a discussion on this.]

[ravagers]

[ Vanille feels... sick. Sicker than sick, even. She'd just given her a plush chocobo to cheer her up, and now... she's gone.

She goes to the kitchen to try and distract herself, and for a little while it works. But halfway through her fifth batch of cookies, she ends up falling to her knees, sobbing.

Once she's done crying her eyes out, she goes to the pool. She changes into a swimsuit--nothing too fancy, but it's pink, of course--and hops into the water. For a while, she floats on her back, staring up at the ceiling. Mostly, she's just thinking. About how messed up all this is, how she's had to face all of this without her friends from back in her world, how Alani would have loved to have a swim in the pool.

... So after a while, she ends up flipping over and starts swimming laps pretty intensely.

Once she's tuckered herself out, Vanille showers and changes into her uniform. She's about to head back to her and Varric's room, but she stops by the profiles. There's almost a hardened look to her, and she lets out a quiet sigh. ]

I get the "disliking Fal'Cie" thing now, I guess...

[ Orphan was a jerk. ]

That's good! Bottling it up inside isn't good for anyone.

[he looks curiously at the punching bag] You're much stronger than I would have thought-- physically, I mean! Obviously you are a very strong person.

[plentyfriendly]

It kind of has to do with a secret of mine, too... both last week's and one I've been holding aside from that.

[Although she's told that second one at least to someone already.]

I mentioned to a few people before now that I got wrapped up in a thing called the "Decision Game", and what I remembered was... I guess I could call it one possible ending. The worst one.

Hiya! Did you want to start our lessons?

[ ... wait okay. She's zeroing in on that outfit, and she's really curious. ]

What's that? Looks skimpy.

[sportadork]

[he watches the proceedings with wide eyes-- cocking his head a bit at the bandages-- and, at the end, claps v politely.]

That was great! [he was kinda just expecting him to completely eat shit so. expectations surpassed entirely.] You must have been really great before!
