WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [ Tomorrow is Friday, and Viktor is seeing a pattern here; they will probably find a body tomorrow. That's why he heads to the library to get some murder mystery books to read so he can be as prepared as possible. Confusion flickers across his face when he spots Orihime, not recognizing her immediately. But once he realizes it's Orihime, he smiles. ]

It looks a little messy, but I like your new haircut.

I'm glad you think so, Hanyuu. I wasn't about to let it stop me, that's for sure.

Being an officer isn't just about physical strength, either. You could be as strong as an Elephant and still not know how to piece together evidence to solve a case.

[officerhops]

Sure, but you never know when you might need everyone on the force sent to one location for one reason or another. It pays to be prepared, so that much I can understand at least.

[She says this as she inches forward, dipping her legs a bit lower in the water.]

[The rabbit nods, taking hold of the string carefully so she can pull back on it. It takes some doing, but she's got a surprising amount of upper arm strength thanks to her training at the academy.

Her form's a bit off, though.]

[Watanuki has his own letter to drop off, but he stops suddenly when he sees Orihime. The haircut is definitely unexpected, but it's really cute on her, and he can feel a blush creeping up his face.

Welp. Time for him to discreetly cover his face by grabbing a handful of papers from the blank paper pile and acting like he's totally focused on something. If she can't see his face, everything will be okay.]

Any particular reason why?

That's very kind of you, Sportacus. I would...really hate for you to have to do that, though. Investigating someone you don't know is one thing, but...with people you were friends with...

...it's hard.

Makes enough sense, I suppose. I just ask because a...shocking amount of worlds that the others are from actually have magic. And it's a real, non-imaginary thing.

Now somewhere else in the ward was a decontamination room. There was only one entrance, since the door on the far side was welded shut.

[ Well he doesn't move back or anything, but he doesn't reciprocate so much as tolerate the gesture. He's been on edge all day, which showed in his training.]

[She gives him an inquisitive look, however, she's still holding on to his hands.]

[She'll give his hands a squeeze as if to enunciate that.]

So you really think this is a case of Chiyuki reaching us?

[It really sounds all so fantastical. But it's not bad... it could be a very good sign and she desperately wants to believe in it.]

Yeah, that was good! You might need to train it to get a little more power in there, since you can't just expect that both your hands are always gonna be free for punching.

Normally I'd assume they weren't my blood affinity. ... Well that and I've never liked chilled blood. [ She shakes her head ] But none of the humans here smell good, so it's obviously Wordsmith's doing.

...I mean, he's done a lot of things so far that I'm not sure how he's managed, so. Not too out of the ordinary for him.

Because how else is he going to sing to the dogs while they eat? I mean, I guess he could have a different instrument, but I don't know. The accordion seems pretty iconic.

[ There's nothing she can do, and she knows it; yet, there's a part of her that's yelling at her to do something. Bring them back.

She takes the bracelets from Mikazuki, looking at them in her hand, trembling as tears roll down her cheeks. ]
