WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. No, you can't. [ It's as blunt as ever, but he's pleased in some way that she realizes this. He stops in his routine though, looking over at her. He knows that tone, he's heard it too many times before.]

[ Her eyes are doubting, like she's unsure she can really believe that he hasn't killed anyone before, what with her assumptions about him.

O-oh...! L-Lusamine! [Eyes open, hair billowing behind her, she looks up. She hadn't heard anyone enter, not at all.] I-I'm sorry, have you- been here long?

The floors always lead down. So there's a chance he's at the lowest level whatever that is.

I'm not sure if he's in the building, at this point.

[He pauses for a moment, before continuing to speak.]

I'm not sure if it's safe to break down the door to the lower levels. At least, not with his pet around.

[ Her give a thumbs-up at her stance regardless, seeming to approve of that at least. But... ]

Ah yes, ...you will want to have your thumb on the spine of the knife -- and essentially sort of grip it like you're holding a hammer? You're already gripping the handle so I don't have to tell you to do that at least. Let me know if you need any further instruction on holding the knife... or any clarifications.

[Bruce is extremely tense, but he's quiet, with narrowed eyes.]

But if you were to try anything, I'd stop you. It'd make you no better than the Wordsmith.

It is. [She turns over a card. No luck at filling the foundation piles.] ...I... There was a time when I learned a lot like you are here. About myself, about the world. It...came to an end, and I ascended, but... I was then, I think, without realizing it, bound to another duty. Now, it's like...discovering all over again.

[She looks at Jasper.]

I hadn't expected to meet one such as you either. Can you tell me about it? ...Being a Gem, and the differences here.

At that, she laughs ]

Oh, you simply must be joking, capo! What, does the mob like to make gaffs like that?!

It would definitely come attack us, and I don't think any of us can fight it with our skills sealed. The vents are an option too, or they were.

[ But then he thinks more about what Bruce said, and hmm.]

What makes you think he's outside?

Yeah, nothing out of the ordinary though. Same kinda thing that always happens.

[But there's something in his tone that says otherwise, that it's more troubling than he wants to let on. Despite that, though, he's brightening up with a carefree wave of his hand.]

Presumably! Though I do have to wonder how our captor got the idea... Points for creativity, I suppose!

I suppose I could let you borrow the other sword I got out of the vending machine. It's wooden though, so I don't know how well it'll stand up against this one.

[It's kind of weird, receiving a compliment like that. What's Killia's ulterior motive...??]

I... admit that wasn't very well explained to me, either. I assume the intent was to get my body ready to receive the "me" that would come back from 2074.

But that's getting ahead of the story a little bit. When I woke up after that, I was in... not quite an elevator, but it looked like one. There was a man in there. He was old, and he'd obviously had his right eye replaced with a cybernetic one.

His name was Sigma.

No necromancy, though they certainly do a lot of ritualistic human sacrifice in order to try to resurrect an ancient god of annihilation, so you're not too far off.

[It's a bit cryptically stated, but she's coming down. That sword can't be used to cut her hands off or something like that, so...it won't be the worst thing.

She's kicking off her heels--because she can only imagine how disastrous it'd be to do this in them--and she'll step on the mat.]

You're refreshingly obvious, actually. [After Kira at least, it's...not as biting as it seems like it should be...?] But I suppose it's good that you have some standards.

There's too much risk in him being here for it to be practical. If he were to slip for even a second, and let one of us get to him? I'd like to believe he's smart enough to realize that would be bad for him.

He can create the same effect from speaking outside the building, or at the very least, somewhere absolutely impervious and undetectable within this building. If he's in the lower floors, then he's leading us to him, and I don't imagine that bodes well for us.
