WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [ Mikazuki leans forward to scrutinize the picture on the phone. He's never seen a machine like it before in his life, so...well. The outfits are quite stylish and pretty. ]

Oh my. Well, knowing that is at least something.

[ He vaguely recalls the discussion of people saying what years it had been in their respective places. ]

Were you preparing for some type of big event?

[The notes are written in simple handwriting - two different sets, from the look of it. The first set is blocky and awkward, the second is unflourished but more practiced-looking and deliberate.

"does it really work like that do you think", says the first, with a crudely-drawn arrow drawn toward a passage explaining how that book's particular time travel mechanic works.

The second set seems to be an answer. "I don't know. Maybe we should ask the bunny."]

[She's not in much of a state to dodge, even if she wanted to. The whole thing takes her by surprise and she lets go of the strap on her brand new bag, which...honestly was already half on the floor, so it just sets down lightly. For a moment, she blinks in a daze and then shuts her eyes tight, crying. That's when she's able to hug Estelle back.]

[firstaid]

[So even gods cry...

Then again, she may not have respect for a god that doesn't feel human emotion and empathize with their situation. Right now, this is Hanyuu, feeling pain for a lost friend and being given a harsh reminder of the world they're in.

Estelle rubs her back with one hand and has her other hand on the back of Hanyuu's head. Just there, consoling her. She has no words right now and instead will just hold her until she's better.]

[It's...a few long moments, and it's not like he can tell if there's sound of movement or not since, well, soundproof. But the door does open a crack, and Hanyuu peers out. It's hard to see much of her, but it's clear she's been crying.]

...Watanuki, a-aah... S-sorry, I didn't...hear you. [Not quite true.]

[deofoled]

It's not just about that. Maybe it was with Lieze but... [ She couldn't fight at all, which was ironic considering who her father was, but that's a story for another time.]

Seraphina is a good fighter, she can duel wield pistols and hit an imp in the heart from a thousand meters away. Christo was a healer yeah, but he was also a strong magic user and he was pretty good with a bow too. I just don't want to regret not doing more...

[ It's times like these that he's glad he was able to reach out to her in her time of need. If he hadn't ... what would have happened? The image of her saying those painful words are clear in his head, and he can't ignore them. He passes the moment to the side--what mattered is what he was able to do for her. ]

I'm honored to hear you say this. I did give it my all to ensure that you would continue to hold that will even now. It seems that regardless of what anyone has said, it's proven that by helping each other out when they need it most, it isn't in vain at all.

So I promise I'll continue giving my support, even now, right up until we finally make our way out of here. After all, our friends are waiting for our return, aren't they?

[ He figured. Man is he bad at this umm-- well the only other place he can think to look is just to check out the walls in general, to see if they're like the rest of the walls in this place that are made of something way too strong to punch through.]

[ Mikazuki feels himself clenching the book a little harder than he already was before as he stares at the handwriting as if he were trying to glean anymore answers from it. After that fruitless moment, he'll probably examine the passage itself because of the fact that the notes seemed to be discussing (albeit briefly) about a time-travel mechanism.

Is there anything to note within that description or is that not all that important? ]

[...God bless, Killia. The walls in here do look...very not-punchable, but are you looking for anything in particular?]

[It's actually not all that important; it makes about as much sense as your average sci-fi phlebotinum nonsense makes.]

[ Oh, this is interesting. And a little exciting. This definitely needs a closer look.

He removes every bottle and sets them aside before reaching into the cabinet and runs his hand around the back, fingers feeling for a button to press or anything else that implies it can be opened. ]

Ah, I think I may know what you mean now.

[ Or does he...!!

It's always hit or miss with Mikazuki tbh. ]

I haven't had the chance to spar against Kogitsunemaru yet, as far as I can remember, but I've done it with a few of my other companions.

[tsugomori]

[ Alrighty then, it looks like he may be just about done here... probably. There's nothing else of note if he looks through the book right? Just for the sake of being thorough here. ]

[trustwellness]

[It feels like there might be a small button in the back - the sort of thing that you press and something might pop open behind it.]

[There isn't, no!

Are you going to look through anything else, or are we calling it a day?]

The best! [the force of one hand moves him from a handstand to an actual standing position.] And with all this space, I probably won't hit the wall nearly as much!

[he sits, getting into some stretches-- easier to talk like this. and boy does he want to talk. he's just gotta. figure a way in.]

Some of the kids [he says, talking about people literally hundreds of years older than him] have been asking me to teach them how to do backflips-- I can finally do it, in a place like this. [a grin] I don't think you'd be very interested in joining us, though.

[ LET'S PRESS THAT BUTTON and hope the building doesn't blow up or something. \o/ ]

[ In his defense, Christo has a literal clairvoyance skill that tells them when somethings not right/enemies are coming/everything they could really want to know. But he'll tap the walls to see if any of them sound hollow or different, and besides that see if there's any cracks and if they're all uniform etc.]

It is.

[ Thank... well he wouldn't thank God but he is very grateful that the dojo exists.]

Are you going to train yourself?

[alchemicals]

[He pauses for a moment at that, tilting his head.]

I'm not as good at it as you are, but I can still do a few things. Not as much as I used to, granted, but some.

[Conversation like this is a little...easier, maybe, just focusing on the movement that's going on and not much of anything else. It's. Better. Than it has been for most of the day, anyway.]

[ Nods, thinks a few moments.]

Do you want to fight with me sometime? [ He is just assuming Mika knows hand-to-hand.]

[ ... well, actually. There was one other place he wanted to look at in the library before concluding his search. If he is able to, if he moved the books around in this section of the library (specifically the shelf he placed the book right back in), would there be anything to be found, like something that's been left behind by someone (more notes or an item)? ]

[The walls all seem pretty uniform, actually, and entirely solid - there are vents, though, further up. Which makes sense, you've all got to breathe and all that.

...Most of you have to breathe. Jasper's kind of an outlier.]

[ You see. There is a thing called common sense, and common sense says 'no he shouldn't', but does he listen? No, because he likes fighting and thinks it'll work out by weapons somehow being involved.

If it doesn't he could ask for a lesson in hand to hand. ]
