WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

...Okay, that kind of makes sense, since we haven't been able to get in the gym before. But... yo. There's something real messed up with the kitchen, my friends.

I mean, there's pretty small vents in there, too, like Killia's talking about. You know how we've been using it for this long, right? I inspected the crap out of the kitchen and everything looked brand new. Like, right outta the box. No stains, no chips, no nothing. The knives don't have any wear or anything. Brand freakin' new.

I actually took a plate and carved... uh...

[he draws a Team Skull logo on a spare sheet of paper.]

...this on it, right? So I put it behind some oatmeal because I figured nobody was gonna go for it, but this morning when I checked to see if it was still there, it wasn't. I didn't find it in the rest of the plates, either. It's just totally gone. Nobody took it, right? I'm kinda doubting it, but if anyone's seen it, this is gonna be slightly less creepy, I guess.

Was the plate itself removed? I donno if anyone's been keeping track of that.

[She's in a mood that's not great and trying her best to get through it anyway.]

I probably should've counted how many plates there were, but... it's just gone. Like someone hit a reset button on the kitchen or something.

Considering you said everything was near mint condition, that's probably not a bad analogy.

...so like, is the reason we can't go in the kitchen because it literally remakes itself every night.

It's a possiblity, but I don't know how the Wordsmith would manage something like that.

...I mean, he's done a lot of things so far that I'm not sure how he's managed, so. Not too out of the ordinary for him.

He also just said something about weird time garbage for the motive, so who who knows. Maybe it's the reset button.

That's certainly odd.

Do you suppose that.... shadow creature saw it, and somehow was able to replace the plate? It sounds like a lot of work just to keep things pristine.

Yeah... man, I don't know. Maybe it replaces all the plates every night. Like... I'm kind of tempted to leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight just to see what happens.

Maybe that's how we should do it. See if something dramatic happens.

The kitchen must close at night for a reason.

Yeah. Nobody wash the dishes tonight. For science.

That is quite strange. But, no, I don't remember seeing a plate with that logo anywhere.

I'm guessing that something probably did take it though, just not us if no one ends up saying they did.

I guess either the shadow monster or the Wordsmith must have it now, if there's not... just some kind of reset button were everything's suddenly brand new again.

Yes. Hopefully there is not some unorthodox usage of a time loop going on here. It would be very difficult to make sense of... probably.

Hmm, yes, messing around with time itself isn't at all...

[ He'll smile a little at that, at the very least, seeming a tad bit pleased to hear it. ]

...I watched this movie once where like. A scientist went back in time, and when he went back to the future, he'd changed something so now bug Pokemon had taken over the world.

... Why would he do something like that? It wasn't by accident, was it? It sounds like it would be very inconvenient.

It was by complete accident. Apparently messing with the past can change the entire course of history even if you just kick over the wrong rock or something.

But I mean, it was a movie.
