WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

...I would like to as well. But knowing him, he'll simply create a rule to justify his actions, because he can.

[Ah. That subject, even when side-stepped...that gets her to tense right up.]

Tell me. Have you found any gloves in this wretched place?

Yeah, that's true.

And I mean. I think... someone could make you some. I can't, but someone has to know how to sew, right?

It doesn't seem like many people do. Or if they do, they're unfamiliar with the machine...

Perhaps I could make some for myself. It can't be that hard, can it?

...I mean, you probably just have to trace around your hand, right? Maybe make it a little bigger so it'll connect or something.

Bigger mostly to take the seams into account. You want it to curve nicely around the fingers so you don't feel like you're sticking your hand into a bag.

[Hmm...]

Now is as good a time as any to learn how to use the machine, at least.

Yeah, that's probably pretty much it. I guess even if you did make 'em kinda big you could cut off the extra fabric once you had the seams right? It doesn't seem like it'd be that hard, anyway.

It likely won't be, no. But Tapus know the perfectionist in me is going to have a field day with every aspect.

[She shrugs.]

I won't be seen with anything less.

Well, yeah. You've gotta be stylin' 24/7. Otherwise I'd think you'd just gotten sick or lost a bet or something.

I can't let my reputation get tarnished. The Wordsmith can take many things, but my style will not be one of them.
