WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [ She was definitely not expecting that at all. She meant it when she said she wasn't going to give up, but Hanyuu sounds so...impressed, so sincere, and Orihime doesn't hear those words very often. ]

[She places a hand on Orihime's arm and- ...almost, just almost, smiles.]

That's--Hanyuu-san, the strong one here...is you.

[ No more little touches; you're getting a full on hug, Hanyuu. Always. ]

You've been through so much...your secrets, your memories, they're--they're so painful. And yet, you're here, and you still take care of us. That's...that's more than I can say for myself.

[ At the mention of her hair, she pulls back a little to rub at the back of her head. ]

A-Ah, thank you... It's...not the best, haha, but I tried.

[What...? Her? Still, she's surprised-]

N-no, I... I-I'm not doing as well...as I could be, really. [Sunday, she didn't want to leave, not at all-] I'm fl-flattered, but really.

[How can Orihime still think she's a good person...?]

I'm...I'll be okay, Hanyuu-san. I've been through a lot at home that's prepared me a little more for this, I think.

[ That's not even a good thing to say... ]

[...What's happened to Orihime? That's not the first time she's said something so worrying, and with this Sunday...]

[ Orihime hasn't even told Hanyuu half of it. She's sure Hanyuu's the same way, too--bearing a lot of burdens, but finding a way to carry them all. ]

I will. [ ... ] I...I think of what Kurosaki-kun would do in a situation like this. He--he wouldn't stop fighting. None of my friends would. They're not here with me, so now...it's my turn.

[Finding a way, until she carries too much.]

[ That's when Break The Cutie happens. ]

[That familiar trope... Hanyuu gently pulls away, though she doesn't go far.]

Ah, I...wanted to look for books on time travel. Gold-kun brought that up during the meeting, so I wanted to see if there was anything else I could find.

[it's always time travel this week isn't it]

O-oh... Well... I haven't really been looking for such things, but I haven't found anything of the sort.

[She's been a fiction-only girl.]

[introspects]

Mhm...and...with the lack of sci-fi, I don't know if we'll have any luck.

[ ... ] Do you think this library is from the past, then?

[oyashiromama]

The past?

[Oh, that's...a surprise.]

You mean...from our relative perspective? I...I suppose it's possible. Or...this place's society could just not be as advanced.

[introspects]

Mhmm, our perspective; when you compare it to some of the other rooms, too, it seems...older.

[oyashiromama]

...aah... Oh, that...is true. I hadn't thought of it compared to the other rooms. Maybe...maybe that's something to look into...if we can.
