WEEK 6 With the deaths of Viktor Nikiforov, Varric Tethras, and Killia, you're down to half of your original number. There's only fifteen of you left. How much longer before your number drops again? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, that doesn't mean that you've gained nothing else among the many, many losses you've faced; it seems that another floor has been made available to you for surviving another week. Congratulations and well done, even if you might not necessarily appreciate the reward. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 15

I'd enjoy that as well! I'd like to see the world Kimbley crawled out of, or where Mikazuki's from... And Killia's world! From the sound of it, I'd fit right in!

I wouldn't mind being able to see Kimbley's world, to really see his alchemy in person! ...If we could bring them back...!

[He absolutely understands and for a moment his expression is still just as pleased as he considers...

And then it falls a bit, because Kimbley's dead. Kimbley's dead and there isn't any raising the dead. Not even Plegia's Dark Mages and Sorcerers have come up with a way to do that. Risen are something, but they're certainly not bringing the dead back to life properly.

He's quiet for a moment before he tries to shake it off and return to the same level of enthusiasm.]

It really would be incredible, wouldn't it? Travelling to see all of these different, fantastic places... It really is a wonderful thought!

[Trying to bring things back to life sounds like a bad idea in general, especially because on the Gem side of things, they tend to be, well...

She still manages to look upbeat, but given how dead inside Jasper has looked for the last couple of weeks, it's more than likely an act.]

I would never have a need to return to working for the Diamonds!

I do. I might not remember everything that happened, but I know returning to working for Yellow Diamond.

It's not an option for me any longer.

Why not? What happened to you?

I met people here.

You're free to make decisions for yourselves. Gems who serve Homeworld don't have that option.

Ah, so you really were the perfect soldier. But being incapable of making your own decisions... Well, it's unfortunate. You're better off exploring other worlds.

Gems grown on Earth have always been considered defective. For me to be gone for months, after such an important mission-- I'd probably be shattered. That's more than enough of a reason for me to never return.

That's certainly understandable. You didn't have a choice in coming here and you're stuck here until this whole thing is over, but once it is you're free! You can go wherever you want, do whatever you want, and never return to that oppressive life!

It's certainly a concern, isn't it? All we can do is make it through one day at a time. Perhaps someday we'll escape.

...we're probably running out of time.

How many more weeks until there aren't any more people who would act on one of his motives? Once we reach that point... we're probably in trouble.

I doubt he'll just kill us all. He'll probably do something like get rid of the food until someone kills. More desperate motives, that sort of thing.

I'm a little surprised it hasn't come to that already. It's probably because he hasn't thought of it before.

No, I'm sure he has. The whole point of this seems to be "what can I do to make you break" as opposed to "what will break you". It may not sound like there's much of a difference, but trust me, there is.

[She'd be fine without the food, but she's also aware that being the lone sane one prooobably means she'd become a target, if she's not one already.]

Then our goal should be to find him before he gets a chance to do that.

Precisely. We need to figure out a way to draw him out, somehow. There must be something we can do!

I agree. I'm just not sure how... He doesn't seem the sort to rise to bait.
