WEEK 3 Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

Needless to say, Cherryblod wins but not without a fight! It ends up being a long game, and while Mion is pretty inexperienced she's not bad for a chess beginner. ]

I've been playing for a hundred years, so I'd like to think I'm pretty good. You're surprisingly talented for a beginner.

Hehe, thanks! You know, I keep forgetting you're over a hundred years old. You look good for your age, old man.

Ah... you age differently than humans, huh?

That's right. There's not a strict ratio of shrimp years to human years.

That's pretty cool, actually... I never would have thought shrimp could live for so long.

How long do they usually live where you're from?

I'm not really sure... I can't remember what the textbook said, but I definitely know it's not over a hundred years. Maybe just a couple of years?

...That's depressing.

[He can't even imagine.]

It kind of is, isn't it... Maybe it feels longer than just a few years to them.

Wonder what it's like, being that kind of a shrimp. Are they happy, until they get eaten...?

I'm sure they are, especially if they're living out in the ocean.

Can't argue with that one. The ocean's a lovely place to live.

It sounds like it, from what you've told me. I still can't wait to see it myself one day.

If you come by mine, I'd love to have you over for a visit.
