WEEK 3 Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

Thank you, thank you, I know. I'm amazing. You said your singing's pretty average, but can you play any instruments? Actually, what kind of things do they play under the sea?

Most land instruments have an underwater version. A friend of mine plays the piano and the ocarina - she's wonderful at both.

I don't play much of anything, myself. Keep meaning to pick something up.

[A sea piano and a sea ocarina. So there'd be a sea lyre too? Made of shells and bones maybe. Ooooh.]

I can see you at that thing over there. [The piano, she means.] It's super fancy like you, but when I tried playing it myself it came out a total mess!

I don't know how to play it, but I've considered learning a few times. Just never really made the commitment.

Now's a good time as ever! Sit yourself down and smash out a few notes. I'll bet your wife'll appreciate a new skill.

Well, alright.

[He'll take a seat at the piano and just start playing random notes, since he doesn't have any music to follow or anything.]

[Following music's for chumps. You learn everything orally or not at all! Who needs reading!]

There you go, that sounds nice! [Maybe. She wouldn't know, actually, pianos are out of her personal reach. She'll pick out a tune on her lyre though.] Just, uh. Let your hand feel out the music. That's pretty much how we do it. I'll play along.

[It's still pretty much random notes. But gradually it's random notes in a similar rhythm, in groups that don't sound terrible together. So that's something.]

[Yeah, that's the ticket. They can play like that for a few minutes before Sigrun speaks up again.]

How're you feeling about it? Good? Bad?

Good, I'd say. Relaxed. Not winning any awards any time soon, but that's not really the point.

As long as you're having fun, you can be as bad as you want at this! No one's a perfect shot their first time holding gun. Same thing with the noisepress.

[The piano.]

[He doesn't think so. Sigrun definitely just made that up.]

As you shouldn't. I think rich people used to have them a lot, but I haven't investigated a nice place like that in a long time. We don't usually go that far out. Do you know what it is?

It's a piano. Although 'noisepress' is much more intuitive, now that I think about it.

[He's chuckling now.]

[Oh, this is the piano. Huh.]

Yeah, it's definitely the better name. I mean, who'd call it a piano anyway? That's got nothing to do with what it does.

Who knows where it came from. They've been pianos as long as I can recall.

[Not that he's old or anything.]

Maybe kitten'd know. He's pretty smart, and he seems like the kinda guy who would. You agree, right? A smarty-tarty?
