WEEK 3 Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. I hope the last offer ain't still open.

It's funny. I know people were thinkin' about it. I would've been right there with 'em , but - y'know. Twins. [The offer was for one person. Stan could never pick just one, and that was the only reason he hadn't really thought seriously about murder last week.]

Of course. That's a sadistic choice, and neither of them would be happy with you for making it.

If it were easier on my wife to leave the ocean, things would have been more difficult on me. - Though, the Kingmaker did say something could be arranged, so at least we're probably not in a desert somewhere...

Yeah, that's the other thing. God knows what I'd be bringin' 'em into.

[And, well, since Cherryblod's admitted to asking the Kingmaker about it...]

...he said he might be able to arrange somethin' for two. But "might" ain't good enough. Besides, it's like sayin' we believe him. I still don't think the world's really over, back there.

Neither do I. And if I'm not trusting him on that, I won't trust him on anything else, either.

[...that's not the primary reason he didn't try and murder anyone last week, but it does help.]

[If he knew then what he does now...well, he's still got more than one person to take care of.]

I get why Caren did it, though. [He gives a heartless chuckle. It's the reason Kamui did it too. What are the odds?] Twins.

I'm an only child, so I don't exactly know what the experience is like, but I can imagine. Don't blame her for it, either.

Growin' up with someone like that, it's...it ain't even the same as havin' a normal brother or sister. [He pauses for a moment.] Hope there aren't too many more of 'em in here. Just Black, I think, but he seems to be doin' okay. Considering.

We talked a little already. Think he'll do alright.

[He'll definitely keep an eye out for him - just in case some genius decides to blame him for the next murder, if there is a next murder.]

...y'know, most of my life I've kept one big secret. The kind worth killin' over, maybe. And now - [He chuckles a little.] - if those are memories we're gettin', it doesn't matter anymore. After all this time...

I've got a twin brother, too. Stanford. [Did he tell Cherryblod his name was Stanford earlier...?]

[Yes, he did, and Cherryblod remembers that.]

I thought you said that was your name.

Ha ha, yeah.

[He's gonna have to go through quite a few rounds of that at some point. Or he already has? Memories, ugh.

He offers a hand.]

Stanley Pines!

[cherryblooded]

Cherryblod. [He takes that hand and gives a firm shake.] Pleasure to meet you.

[Yeesh, that's weird. He obviously has to shake off the wrongness of giving his actual name for a second. But hey - he can't just keep Ford locked in the basement forever, they're gonna have to do this.]

See, I'm great. Heard that Stanford jerk threw a phone at ya.

Oh, don't worry, I'd already forgive him for that.

[It's a natural reaction to seeing someone of a species you don't recognize. Probably.]

Didn't even hurt much.

[Well, that was fun! Probably no further explanation is needed as to why he was pretending to be his twin brother!

...that's not gonna fly, is it.]

...So am I going to hear why you were pretending to be your twin, or is that an even more secret secret?

[He'll drop it, if the subject's obviously touchy.]

It's kinda a long story.

The short version's that he's been away for a while. Not really by choice. I needed to keep access to his things to help get him back, and it's not like I was doin' much with my name anyway...so "Stanley" had a little accident. Bein' Ford was a lot more useful.

[Yeah he basically faked his death and erased his own existence, legally speaking. He doesn't seem to view this as a loss, though, so eh.]

But he's back now! I ain't gonna hold onto his identity while he's around to use it! It'd kinda defeat the purpose.

I see. That'll be difficult to explain to everyone else, I imagine.

[Faking your own death is a messy thing to undo.]

I'm gonna have to get used to doin' it anyway, right? Feels weird, usin' my name after so long.

['Stanford' sounds like a nerd.]
