Week 3.

WEEK 3

Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

Usually you play with a tiled map and figures, but if you don't have figures any small objects to stand in for your characters will do.

...characters...? Is there a story to these things, then?

[...this is sounding kind of intriguing, actually.]

Usually? One person controls the antagonists, and the other players each have a single character, and they work together to defeat the opponents. There's typically an overarching story, often about heroism or exploring dangerous places or such.

It's been a long time since I played, but I remember having fun with it.
bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-18 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
...huh. You know, that actually does sound like a pretty good time. I guess it sounds like something I would've liked better as a kid than now, but if there's nothing else to do... there's no real point in not trying it.

Maybe someone will get a game together? You usually need about four people, if I'm remembering right.
bloodisthicker: NOT FORGED AT ALL (that autopsy report is old as shit hahah)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-19 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you have the experience, don't you? Maybe if you got the word out that someone was running a game for new players, we'd get another... oh, two people.
cherryblooded: (smile / a little embarrassed)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-03-19 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm rusty. I'd have to review all the rules first if I was going to run a game.
bloodisthicker: also vote for me k (here let me flatter the shit out of you)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-20 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... huh. Well, maybe someone else knows how to run one, then.

Or we could just make things up as we go.
cherryblooded: (smile / pleasant)

That might devolve into anarchy quickly.

Which isn't to say it doesn't sound fun.
bloodisthicker: punched any equalists lately (so how you doin')

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-20 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, everything has a proper time and place. While anarchy is usually completely unacceptable, it's perfectly fine when it's involved in some kind of silly game where there are no actual stakes.

Forgive my word choice. I forgot you were a government official for a moment.
bloodisthicker: could have bloodbended you all but i didn't (god i'm such a great guy)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, I didn't really think poorly of it, since... well, like I said, I know it wasn't applying to anything that actually mattered.
cherryblooded: (smile / pleasant)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-03-21 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Some people are more sensitive about that sort of thing.
bloodisthicker: punched any equalists lately (so how you doin')

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you actually advocate the dissolution of government and the rule of chaos in a real-world sense, I'd have to have some words with you.
cherryblooded: (smile / ho ho)

I promise you I don't. I think our monarchy is doing just fine, really.
bloodisthicker: how do i seven year olds exactly (wow this is the most forced smile)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, well, that's good. ...I can't say that for the monarchies where I'm from, but mostly it just depends.
cherryblooded: (sweat / uh oh)

There are occasionally problems with succession... to put it lightly. But when you're as long-lived as we are, if you have a good ruler, they tend to stay around for a long time.
