Week 3.
Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]

A radio fan, are you? What sort of stations did you tune into?

Ahh, I've heard of radios dramas! While Unova is television and movie-focused, I have heard that Johto has a very strong radio following.
I realize that it is likely a sore subject since you are missing them, but I am curious... What was your favorite drama that was airing before arriving here?

...now, I've heard of movies, but I haven't heard of television. I'm guessing it's sort of similar from the name, though...?
[...it's got "vision" in it, so it must have to do with seeing things!]
...and oh, it was this really melodramatic period serial about a love triangle that would always end on some dramatic cliffhanger over whether the kind-hearted Waterbender princess Anana will choose Anil, the freewheeling Airbender boy next door, or Shibata, the troubled Firebender bad boy with a tortured past.

[SAYS THE GUY WITH POKEMON. But look, it's just really sort of mind-boggling for a guy who is used to really high-tech stuff.]
Imagine movies, but instead of having to go out to a theater to see them, you can watch them on a screen in your own home. That is television. There are programs designed specifically for it as well, so it's more similar to your radio dramas, but with visual elements.
[As for the details on the radio drama...
...To put it lightly he just stares blankly as Tarrlok describes it.]
I am...sure it keeps you waiting with baited breath between each episode. Though I can't say I ever imagined something like that to be your favorite.

Who knows? Maybe that will even happen in my lifetime.
[THE GREEK CHORUS IS NOW SINGING THE ONE DIRECTION LAUGH TRACK]
I will wholeheartedly admit that I started listening to it completely ironically, but then before I knew it I was so deeply invested that I had to tune in every week just so I could know. Maybe I can get Councilwoman Hiyoko to fill me in on what I missed...

[Like...he doesn't care much for movies and all that, but moving picture technology is basically a huge scientific breakthrough. He can at least appreciate that.]
Isn't it funny how it works like that? You find something ridiculous, but it's designed in such a way that it still manages to pull you in. ...Honestly, it's slightly unnerving how well it is at manipulating our minds.
no subject
I... can't really say I ever thought of that end of things as manipulation, but I guess it really is. And here I was, thinking it was just a fun way to pass the time while doing paperwork...
no subject
Oh, I never said it wasn't fun! It just leads to watching or listening to some things you never expected to...or would be willing to admit to watching or listening to. It can even happen with written media sometimes!
[Apparently Colress must have his own guilty pleasures too if he's suddenly so passionate about trashy programming's secret mind manipulation techniques.]
no subject
...oh, no, I know that too well. Honestly, the only reason I'm listening to that trashy kind of stuff instead of reading it is because I barely have time to sit down and read things these days.
...well, back home, anyway.

TO SAY IT, OR NOT TO SAY IT......
Fuck it, Tarrlok you better have his back with this-]
I can confirm that the library has its fair share, at least. I picked one up out of desperation from boredom before I got these radios, and...
I was mildly horrified at how much trouble I had putting it down after I began paging through it.

[...this is good potential blackmail material, but for now...... you know........]
Could you... perhaps give me the title so I can see if I'm able to get back into reading, maybe.

...............]
Blinded by Science.
I...I was desperate for anything scientific in nature.

You know, I'd probably prefer a political theme, but... I'll take it.

[....]
If not, the one I mentioned will be slipped by your door as soon as I finish it.

It would be our secret reading swap. I certainly wouldn't mind sharing opinions, either!
[Look at their lives and choices, this is what desperation has done to them.
If only it could stay this simple...]

this is AWFUL

[THAT SOUNDS FAKE, BUT OKAY...
In other words, tell him more.]

So with that in mind...]
Promise me we will never get that bad, Tarrlok.
