Week 3.

WEEK 3

Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-18 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
...that's honestly kind of unfortunate, because I've never been terribly fond of card games and I can't say I can really pin down why.
notjustawriter: (♙ they say the rain must fall)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-19 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Different people like different things.

[....]

I wonder if there's a Monopoly box around here; that's a board game I could show you.
bloodisthicker: oh no, it's hot (guys... fucking...)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-19 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose it's just taste, then.

Monopoly, huh? What's that one about?

[gabriel, we're trying not to kill each other here]
notjustawriter: (♛ they knew how they could hurt you)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-20 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[too late]

It's this game where you play with a number of people, and you all are buyin' and sellin' real estate. The goal of the game is to bankrupt the other players so you're the only one left.

[You know, as you do.]
bloodisthicker: i can't handle this rabbit food (oh that's just unfortunate)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
...That... how many people have died over this game, exactly? That sounds like it could easily end in tears.
notjustawriter: (♟ on a horse with no name)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-21 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
....Maybe. But it's a family game. Meant to be played with kids. I'm sure losin' could upset a really young kid, but other than that, I can't imagine people dying over Monopoly.

[But then again, a lot of people have died here already, so]

bloodisthicker: but i'm still not reopening your arena (that's rough buddy)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-21 11:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... yes, it is just a game. I guess if you were using real money it'd be different, but... I don't know. It just sounds vaguely cutthroat for a fun family game.
notjustawriter: (♟ but the air was full of sound)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-22 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it is kind of a strange game.

I've never thought of it that way before.
bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
It almost sounds like some kind of bizarre social commentary wrapped in the guise of a game you let your kids play.
notjustawriter: (♟ after nine days i let the horse)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-22 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
It does.

...I'm not sure if it's for or against capitalism, in that case.
bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 12:56 am (UTC)(link)
It could really go either way. I'm... probably going to assume for, since it doesn't really sound like there's anything to it that makes being a cutthroat land tycoon a bad thing.
notjustawriter: (♟ the heat was hot)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-22 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Not really, no. It's one of those "winner takes all" games.

....That is a pretty brutal lesson to teach kids.
bloodisthicker: all gooey and undercooked in the middle (half-baked as shit)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-22 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
...I guess you've got to give them a heavy dose of reality early, don't you.
notjustawriter: (♟ and the ground was dry)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-22 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
At least it's couched in fun.

Less of a "hey kids, welcome to a grim reality!" that way.
