Week 3.

WEEK 3

Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

bloodisthicker: i'm supposed to be batman here (gettin real tired of your shit korra)

...I don't know what I expected....

[He... kneels a bit to start toweling off the floor...]

In my defense, it felt more productive than doing nothing at the time.
isafraid: (Hmm?)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-03-19 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Speedwagon kneels as well, eyes slowly running over the dripping water.]

...Figure if any of it got through, then we could take that for meaning the door's not as tight-lipped as we thought. If that's your idea, then it was worth a try.
bloodisthicker: there, i said it (your face is a huge jerk.)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-20 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
...oh, that... wasn't quite my intention, although it would be nice if it could get under there. Under normal circumstances, I could probably use water to get us in there somehow, but... that's really not the case.
isafraid: (Allow me to introduce myself)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-03-20 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah! That... 'moving' gimmick you talked about once?

[He vaguely remembers you saying something about it.
bloodisthicker: yeah but what are we going to do with all that melon juice? (pinky are you thinking what i'm thinking)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-20 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
It's bending, but yes. I guess if no water could get under the door the point would be moot, but I think if it could it would be possible to freeze our way out of here.

...possible, not guaranteed, mind.
isafraid: (Default)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-03-22 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Bending then, right. [He'll try to remember that, Turlock.]

So, you're saying you could use this skill to freeze water solid? Pardon me, but how does a man come about learning such a skill?
bloodisthicker: douchebending is totally a sport (pro douchebender)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-23 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... well, you specifically probably couldn't learn it. It's something you're born with rather than something you can pick up at any time.

...I mean, certainly, you need to learn how to control it rather than just kind of aimlessly flinging water or dirt or fire around, but people generally figure out that they're benders roughly a bit after they can walk and form sentences that are in the general area of coherent.
isafraid: (Needs more worried emotes)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-03-24 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
...Ah, so it's a special sort of ability then. [Which he can't learn. super.

Speedwagon suddenly finds himself struck with an odd and unexplainable sense of deja vu.
]

So- hang on, you're saying you can control the elements in your world like it's nothing then?
bloodisthicker: NOT FORGED AT ALL (that autopsy report is old as shit hahah)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-03-26 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not like it's nothing, really. You still have to spend a lot of time learning to use them properly, although you have some basic control over your element even before you're trained.

But benders can also only bend one of the four elements, either fire, air, water, or earth. There's one person who can bend all four, but she's... kind of a special case.
isafraid: (How'd this even work)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-03-28 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, well that's a bit different then, isn't it? Different groups of people with different skills over the elements? Sounds like a bloody fantastic world you've got.

One person? well I can't say that doesn't sound like a lot of responsibility to bear.
bloodisthicker: it never fails. (i saw it in my coffee.)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-04-06 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
It's definitely something, that's for sure. I didn't think I could imagine a world without it, but...

[...GENERAL SHRUG AT THIS WHOLE SITUATION...]

Oh, well, it certainly is. It's not just being able to bend all four elements, after all --- it's also serving as a balancing force between the nations and being an intermediary with spirits.
isafraid: (Allow me to introduce myself)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-04-06 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
It isn't too difficult for me. [ahaha]

Nations and spirits? You're telling me that, on top of all that your world's got, you have to contend with the spirits around you? [He's... not too surprised.] Guess I shouldn't be surprised, after all we've all seen what mermaids and vampires really are.
bloodisthicker: in your dreams, tarrlok... (my best lord vetinari impression)

[personal profile] bloodisthicker 2016-04-15 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, they're not that common, at the very least. They're usually off in the spirit world rather than the...

...

Standard world, I suppose. Of course, they do cause problems every so often, so having someone who knows what they're doing around spirits is a good thing.
