Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
INCENTIVE
It's almost a relief.
However, anyone entering the dining hall (maybe to see what's going on, maybe just to make lunch, who knows) will find a small table set up underneath the profiles; it's a nice setup on it - there are twenty envelopes in the usual loud colors of the Vault fanned out in a circle, each bearing a Survivor's title.
And in the center of the circle, there's another of those butterfly knives sunk into it at a perpendicular angle, a note written in that unfamiliar handwriting from yesterday pinned beneath the blade.
TAKE YOURS. READ IT.
And that's all it says.
Those choosing to ignore it can go about their day doing whatever they'd like, none the worse for wear; those who follow the note's instructions, however...
Well, they'll find their deepest secret written on the slip of paper inside. Even if they don't remember it yet.]
no subject
[Stan reaches out to yank the butterfly knife out of the note, folding it up and keeping hold of it as he goes for his own envelope. His brow furrows as he reads the paper inside.]
Uh...okay?
no subject
You're going to get rid of that, right?
no subject
[But really, he's less interested in that right now.]
Wait, did the rest of you get blackmail material or somethin'?
no subject
Is that what you got as well? We already knew he stalked us for a while so I'm not too surprised after the initial shock.
[Looks like someone doesn't have a lot on her.]
no subject
[It's not even a secret, they've talked about those dream-memories in group meetings and everything.]
no subject
[You know, ignoring Tarrlok and Misa over there that are freaking out.]
no subject
[Because he has secrets. And though he'd like to believe it, he wouldn't be surprised if the Kingmaker knew about them. Oh well, he ain't gonna complain.]

But when Yosuke opens his cherry red envelope he gives an over the top shriek as a few photos come along with his note]
HOW THE HELL DID HE EVEN GET THESE?!
[time to hide them against his chest. time to kill a man]
no subject
-Photos?
no subject
NOPE, NOPE.
no subject
[That doesn't seem like the reaction he'd have to something that was more incriminating than embarrassing.]
no subject
Still-! N-no one wants to see that....!
no subject
...But it's a relief to know that yours is something like that.
[Not that he expected Yosuke to kill anyone ever, but it's nice to know the worst the Kingmaker could dig up on him is just embarrassing.]

Maybe he can just... make sure he's against a wall first... he's too tall for anyone to read over his shoulder in the first place, but you know.
He takes it out, reads it, and tries very hard to keep horror from spreading across his face.
Wait. That... quickly turns to bafflement as he reads a particular line. He brings it up to his face to make sure he's actually reading it right, because what the hell?
...now he's just fucking pissed, as evidenced by him roughly jamming the letter back in the envelope.]
...does he really think this is funny? Is this some sort of a... well, a sicker joke than usual?
no subject
There's no stopping her curiosity when she sees an envelope with her name on it. Opening that!]
How could they have-?
[She looks... shocked!]

[Mouri approaches, at least having the courtesy to not to try to read your letter. He is pretty nonchalant about this whole deal. He makes a flippant gesture]
From what I see the Kingmaker is trying to attack our self-esteems or some other plan like that.
no subject
Self-esteem..? Detective, didn't the kingmaker dig up some secret of yours? That's what mine is.
[Is it weird to freely admit that the slip of paper has a DARK SECRET on it? Okay, Lynne.]
no subject
If these are meant to be secrets then maybe I just don't have anything to be exposed so he had to invent something.
[He is even waving his letter around as if it were nothing. It's good to know somebody isn't affected at all by the incentive!]
no subject
Are you sure it's completely made up? Mine is something pretty small but I had thought it was the perfect crime and all so I was surprised he knew. I should have something bigger written down.
[Trailing off cause what the heck... Kingmaker what are you doing?]
no subject
[Mouri extends the letter to Lynne.
His fame, his sharp detective skills, 95% of the successful solved cases in the last two years, it's all an elaborate facade created by Conan Edogawa'
Mouri shrugs, not realizing just how true all that is]
Ridiculous, isn't it?

She should've known it was too good to be true. Opening the envelope with the word Captivating on it, Misa starts to go pale as a ghost. There's no way anyone should know this, but...
Well, she crumples the sheet of paper in her hand and bolts out of the room, wondering what the hell the best way to dispose of this was. Ripping it is unreliable, she can't throw it out, the incinerator takes too long to start...maybe she can go to the art room and cut it up with scissors until there are too many pieces, and then throw those in the incinerator--
Looks like this one is hitting her particularly hard. ]
Re: INCENTIVE
The content of the letter makes him frown, but not in realization for seeing his biggest secret laid right there]
...I don't get it.
[It is more because he doesn't even realize the words in there are true]
no subject
He takes his cautiously, but when he opens it, his brows raise a little.]
....That's the best you've got?
no subject
But he does regardless. And it's... confusing, very confusing.]
When the hell have I ever...?
