Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. That said, though, he settles back at that; while he's entirely capable of doing this standing and he'd have no trouble doing that, the fact that they're lying down is admittedly sort of nice just because he can see Sigrun being the sort that would want to see if he can still move while he does this and he'd prefer to not have his "balance while having a literal out-of-body experience" functions tested today.
It's not any sort of physical motion that he does to get it started, it seems to be either mental or some sort of internal process; either way, that panel at his core slides open easily, showing plainly that it's entirely portions of the panel that are colored rather than what's kept inside of it - the heart-shaped thing there is white, as he'd described it being. It's also surprisingly solid, given that it is in fact an actual soul, and it's also entirely opaque when it leaves his body.
It isn't going far, mind, just kind of hovering there, and thankfully his body doesn't just up and die once that's happening; the mechanical processes are still working and the interior chamber that his soul had been occupying is still dimly lit, everything's just idling.]

...Okay, look, you're directly touching his soul. Not that monsters exactly mind that normally, seeing as their entire bodies are made up of it, but he's used to touching things through metal. So that shit's going to feel kinda weird.
But still, it's not like he minds, and there isn't any sort of...I don't know, electric shock or anything that comes with it. It's entirely solid, though not in the way stone is solid - it seems weirdly malleable, actually.]

[She is so visibly overjoyed at this, and despite her enthusiasm she's going to cup his soul as gently as she can manage as she continues. As malleable as it seems and as much as she really wants to squish it she will resist.
... It's a nice feeling, because she knows she's got a lot of power right now. And Mettaton trusts her. Why shouldn't he though?]
So I caught Cherry in the kitchen earlier and we talked a little about the secrets and stuff. That's all fine. You can count on me to keep him safe from anyone that'd like to do a number on him. Past's in the past after all!
... And he said that we're a good match, you and me. [Sigrun has a conflicting look on her face now, giddy trying to keep casual. There's a reason she wanted to say this stuff now, chuckling lightly.] That we're good for each other or whatever. I don't know about that, but I mean, there really is pretty much no one else that can keep up with me the way you can! Here. Barely anyone back home too, I'm proud to say.
[This is the reason she's glad he can't talk. Because this is kind of embarrassing and mostly she wants to embarrass him because have you ever felt it before you dumb robot it's horrible in a good way. He'll probably just feel pleased and flattered though.]
So... Thanks? I guess? I don't know. I just want to take you home and stuff. I got his blessing and everything. I still think you're just stupid though.
[In like, the nicest way possible. And... she'll drop her hands away, done with the literal heart-to-heart. She kind of feels stupid now. This was a dumb idea and she regrets it, but she also wants to get over feeling stupid.]

Normally there would be some cause for concern given how utterly overjoyed she is that he can't talk to her right now, but as it is there isn't, and there doesn't seem to be any more of that odd flinching back or trying to avoid being held in any way, either. It's...not something he ever really thought he'd like, certainly, and instinctively speaking it's bizarre and probably not something he would have considered an idea of a good time before now, but it's clearly something that's going to be allowed for the time being and the heart in her hands just kind of...pulses a bit, vibrating a little here and there.
The warmth isn't fading any, though, which is probably a good sign; when she lets go it won't take long before it's back in his body and that panel is closed, and all of the usual processes are quick to come back to full function.
He doesn't say anything right away; he'll push himself up easily, so he doesn't seem too disoriented or anything, and if anything he seems pleased with all that? It's just kind of a lot to handle and there are feelings involved, so there's going to be a buffering period anyway.]
I don't think I can show you here - not without magic, anyway. If I get that back...I'll start a battle with you, the way we do it in the Underground. You can see it then.

Well...I think Dr. Alphys' design involved some sort of alternator mechanism? Like a generator, something that was supposed to recharge itself; we just weren't able to implement it properly before the human showed up.
I don't know, though. I don't understand mechanical things any better than anyone else, I just happen to be one.

[They pretty much run on generators and hydroelectricity where she's from, so. Even fixing one up's not an issue. If their generous, petty benefactor has given him a proper fit, then good! If it's some other bullshit, they can just fiddle something out for him.
