Friday morning starts as all mornings in the Vault do. The klaxons sound off at seven in the morning; some awaken easily, some don't, but the point remains that for better or worse, everyone has to leave the room they were sleeping in eventually. A few will be spared from the immediate knowledge that something is amiss – those whose rooms are tucked away in the corners of the dorms and don't have a clear view of the hallway may get a few seconds' peace of mind. However, as soon as the main hallway is visible it becomes obvious that something isn't right. It isn't like the first week, where the blood was contained to the far end of the building. This time, the blood starts in the dormitory hallway. It looks like it's starting near one of the dormitory rooms toward the middle of the floor. >Explore?

[Well considering that her body is here...

Time to do this again, same as with all the others. Its a sickening routine by now.

He'll start with a cursory examination of the body. Is there anything that immediately sticks out of place that will get his attention?]

[Probably the amount of blood on her body and clothes; that's the most obvious concern right now.]

[That is a lot of blood... how about her clothes first now, specifically? How badly are they damaged, if they are at all?]

[Pretty damaged. Not quite as bad as the massive slash wounds on Zagi, but it looks like whatever happened here wasn't a particularly clean job - they aren't elongated slits, but they're a little jagged around the edges.

They're corresponding with the multiple stab wounds on her body.]

[Multiple stab wounds? So she was attacked several times before...]

...I'm so sorry. [He mutters, unable to help himself once more. Another person dead, and another culprit among them... dealing with this week after week is far too exhausting. Still, he has to continue - determination, and all that.

Looking closer at the wounds and the damage done to her clothes now - just to be sure, are the damages on her clothes only done at the parts where she had been stabbed at? Or are there other areas that have damaged as well?

As for the stab wounds themselves... where are their exact placements? Do any of them hit any vital areas of the human body?]

If not that, are there any injuries besides the stab wounds?]

Is it an abnormal amount of blood, or does it look like it could have all come from her?]

[Poor, sweet Sakura-san. Always treating others with respect, and here she is dead.

Mouri doesn't have all his confidence back but he'll try, at least. The first thing that gets his attention is try to see if Megumi has something in her fist]

[There does seem to be something in her hand, yes.]

This seems promising! With some luck it'll be an important clue.

[Rigor mortis has started to set in on the body, but it hasn't been anywhere near long enough for it to be at its peak - but that's more or less a given, since that takes about twelve hours or so from death. So her limbs and extremities are still easily pliable, and she'll give up whatever's in her hand without much of a fuss from beyond the veil.

Looks like she's got a few strands of hair in her hand.]

[Mouri manages to contain his excitement at finding what seems to be a vital clue. If the culprit is nearby it'd be better to not to alert them.

Mouri carefully picks up the strands and stores them in his handkerchief, as he did with the fibers when Pearl died. What's the color of those hairs?]

Let's take a look at the body, even though he really doesn't want to. Any injuries that immediately stand out?]

[Bruce is checking out the fact that she's absolutely covered in blood, for one thing.]

[Colress is still a little shaken up, but he wants to help with the investigation for sure.

While the others investigate the body, is there anything else off about Megumi's room itself?]

[Actually? No.

Given the fact that somebody is dead right there, you'd think that things would be a lot more disturbed in here; strangely enough, though, with the corpse in the state that it's in, there's nothing completely off about the room - none of Megumi's things have been disturbed, and outside of the position the body is in, there are no signs that there was some sort of struggle.

[Well that's odd. The fact that there's nothing off with the room is...still off, but in a different way!

Keeping that in mind as he looks around, Colress considers the splashes of blood in the hallway and near the door. Is there any blood in the room leading to Megumi's body? And exactly how far is the body into the room?]

[The body isn't very far into the room - she's definitely in the room, but she's more toward the center and favoring the entrance as opposed to near the walls or the bed.

There's some blood near the body and leading out toward the hallway, but given the pool of blood on the floor it doesn't look like she was dragged anywhere.]

M-miss Megumi...

[Speedwagon's Just sort of found himself hanging around the doorway, watching the others go about their business, and Megumi... laying there.

There she is, dead. Like the other poor souls they've found.

She didn't deserve this.]

[You are distracting the workers, golly.

Nah, after three crime scenes and having to deal with interlopers Mouri is getting used to it. He doesn't mind Speedwagon's presence, he's even taking a moment to approach and see if he can calm Speedwagon down]

Were you two close?

Detective. [A tired nod as he realized he's being spoken to.]

...I wouldn't say too close, though we had chatted more often then not.
