Week 5.

WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. You're gonna look pretty sweet in that dress. Get your weapon and let's go!

[Otherwise she'll toss a throwing knife at him as per request.]

What, you think I'm not prepared?

[Remember when he supplied the bloodletting? Well looks like that became a habit, as he pulls his own knives from under his sleeve- apparently he hasn't been unarmed since he got here]

[captainobnoxious]

[Jeez, that earns him a whistle, and she'll relax into a more defensive stance with her own.]

You're smarter than I give you credit for. [say the uneducated norwegian] If you weren't a fakey fake with your hair, I'd even call you one of my own.

[garudynamic]

Aw come on, again with the hair?

[He huffs, and goes into what might be considered a stance as well- only not defensive at all. Instead he's almost... swaying? Moving his weigth from foot to foot lazily]

First blood, right?

[captainobnoxious]

[So he's ready to take off at first word, is what she's seeing.]

First blood. Your move, kid.

[She's gotta see what he's most like.]

[Ready out of necessity- he's not big, he's not that strong. So he has to be fast. Has to kill with a thousand cuts and not get even one if he wants to survive.

He circles around a little, still seeming to bop to music only he can hear, looking for an opening- if he rushes randomly she's just catch him]

[captainobnoxious]

[It's true, she would, and she keeps an eye on him as he circles around. Kind of like one of the more wolfish beasts. Sigrun can usually kill those things nice and easy, but humans are a different kind of opponent that makes her shift her weight a little lower, grip on the knife tightening familiarly.

Oh, how she'd missed having one of these, and Sigrun's seemingly tired of waiting when she decides to take off at him, all power and speed herself. Not as quick as Yosuke and his string bean self, but what she showed with her and Colress's battle wasn't just a one time thing.]

[garudynamic]

[And Yosuke dances away, swiping out at her- more as a test then a real attack, seeing as he doesn't stay in range long enough to really do anything anyways

He expects her to chase after him, to keep up the pressure, so he changes directions without even waiting to see what she does, working to try and keep her in sight at all times.]

[captainobnoxious]

[The swipe's no problem to dodge, though she's caught by surprise at the change of directions as quick as she is to try and follow after, stumbling a little in her attempt.

It's a genuine opening, yes, but it's not like Sigrun isn't hoping he'll go for it so she can counter.]

[garudynamic]

[All his experience until 'recently' has been largely against mindless monsters- so a feint is barely in his mind.

It's an opening, and he goes for it]

[Yosuke might see the fraction of a maniac grin when he gets close enough to hit.

And then she's stepping easily to the side, knife turning in her hand as she swings at him for his error in judgement.]

[His eyes go wide when he sees that look, and he spins away-

-it's close, but there's a bright red line under his eye, oozing blood. He doesn't seem to have even noticed he's been tagged yet]

[captainobnoxious]

[She has, of course, but she won't let down her guard as she dances back with a laugh.]

You're such a rookie, lazybones! You got hit already!

[garudynamic]

What? No I didn-

[His face tickles from the flowing blood, and he wipes at it]

...oh goddamn it!

[captainobnoxious]

You're not bad though, kid.

[Sigrun'll take out some bandages from one of her bags, not to mummify his face or anything, and rips a strip to press against the wound to help stop the bleeding.]

You have a good speed and you're quick on your feet even outside of that! You really caught me by surprise with that change of direction of yours. [Always praise before you crit.] But you've obviously never faced anything with half a brain before. If you fall for something like that again, it's not going to be your face that's cut next time.

Ngh... I'm used to having a team.

[captainobnoxious]

Me too. But it's still good to be able to do things on your own as well, kiddo.

What were they like?

Oh man, in general or in a fight?

[captainobnoxious]

In a fight! You can tell a lot about someone by how they fight, the kind of strats they choose and all that.

Well, we always fight as a group- we promised no one would ever go in alone. Usually we do two groups- one of four and everyone else exploring or protecting Rise. She can't fight but she has powers that let her sense enemies for us and act like a communicator.

[captainobnoxious]

So she's your Scout. It's a sound strategy to go in as a group, I guess, but it makes you a pretty easy target at the same time. We always split up into pairs when we're out on the field. The buddy system, you know?

[They make up for each other's failings that way.]

Except during training. I keep a closer eye on my rookies just in case they can't handle themselves.

Me and Yu went in a pair when it was just us. He's our Leader. He uses a sword and can switch out his powers whenever he wants- the rest of us have just one set of stuff we can really do, but he can fill in any holes in what we need at anytime.

[Look how proud he sounds. Best friend is so amazing]

Powers, huh. What kind of powers?

[Honestly, any and all kind of talks like this usually go over her head anyway since it's magic to her and that is just not her jurisdiction.]

Uh... It's kinda complicated, but basically we can all use elemental magic and stuff like that. Like, I use wind.
