Week 5.

WEEK 5 Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better. A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. They really don't have anything fun to do in Inaba, do they.

I told ya man. We don't even have a full time bar. The convenience store just switches over at night. Let alone anything for high schoolers.

[ except for solving a string of small town murders that occurred due to supernatural influences. ]

If it's any consolation, I didn't do anything fun when I was in high school either. [ ...of course he went despite the fact it isn't completely required after a certain age--no no, they'd moved to America before then. he's not a total loser.

except he also would've gone anyway ] Between homework, schoolwork, Caster training--even though I was supposed to be joining until I got a little older--I didn't really have time.

[ ...for like, almost anything. ]

Now I feel like I have too much time, honestly.

Man, you too? But if you don't keep busy this place just-

-like it's so quiet it's like it's loud? I dunno- just sitting and thinking for too long here and I want to rip my hair out.

[There's no natural sound, not creaking of a building shifting. Not enough people to fill the space. It's maddening after so long]

...though I can't say I'm surprised you were some busybody in school.

Well, there's a reason I keep picking up hobbies outside of reading everything in the library. Why aren't you surprised? [ because you're a nerd, black. ]

You just come off like the type?

[He smirks a little- he's not gonna SAY nerd.]

[ ...sigh ]

As long as you don't make fun of me for it, I don't care what you call me. [ sometimes ya just gotta embrace what ya are ] Learning a little bit of everything is better than learning nothing at all anyway.

[garudynamic]

I didn't say it was bad! And hell, maybe if studied more I wouldn't be waffling so much on my post-graduation assessment.

[penduli]

[ Mmm. ]

What's that for? [ ...look, yosuke, he didn't have to do this, he had his life set out in front of him already. whether he liked it or not. ]

[garudynamic]

Oh, it's like... our counselor basically asks us our post-graduation plans so we can get helping picking out schools or stuff like that.

[penduli]

...it's nice to be able to waffle in that case, I think. [ How does he put it. ] I didn't have much say in the matter myself--I mean, my parents never pushed me to be a Caster like them, but there wasn't anything else I was really good at, either. My psychic abilities are all I really had. Besides, everyone else in my family became Casters, and I knew my sister'd give me grief if I didn't...

[ And, now there's here and he doesn't have them or a job and he's just filling his time doing literally anything that catches his attention. ]

Waffling just means you have a lot you want to do and you're just not sure if you can, right? Though I'm sure you can do just about anything you put your mind to.

[garudynamic]

[Black's praise makes him turn red, but only does so much to ease his now slightly sour expression]

I dunno... it's less that there's a lot I wanna do and more I have no IDEA what I wanna do. After everything that happened just getting a job seems so... I dunno-

-hollow? My grades aren't great either, so I dunno if I could even get into a school anyways.

[penduli]

[ yosuke you're talking to Mr. "well it isn't like i had much of a choice, what with my psychic powers and all" here. ...also why does he keep giving advice when he's in no position to do so. ]

They're the same thing. [ at their core, anyway. he... never knew what to say to White about this, either. ] Why not just become a detective or something? ...being here gives you great work experience anyway.

[garudynamic]

[That at least clears the sour look off his face with a laugh]

I dunno if I could put this on my resume though.

[penduli]

[ PHEW. ]

You can put anything on your resume if you word it right. [ TRUTH IN FICTION HERE. ] "Survived a murder game set by a crazy weirdo and solved case after case in order to stay alive" probably wouldn't work, but... hmm.

[ Give him a second, he... doesn't have this at all. ]

...putting that you have on-the-job experience, even if it's amateur, wouldn't be bad? A lot of people look for initiative and for people who seem like they know what they're doing. [ ......heheheh-- ] You might have a tough time pulling that second one off.

[garudynamic]

Wow! Ouch!

[He puts a hand to his chest in over wrought distress]

I see how much confidence you have in me now.

[penduli]

I'm only being honest. [ And a tease, but Anyway. ] I'm the same way though--or I used to be. My sister'd get mad at me because, and I quote, "You've always got that dumb look on your face like you don't know what's going on!"

[ ... ... ... ... ]

I wonder if I've gotten any better.

[garudynamic]

I haven't seen you make any REALLY dumb faces.

[Maybe a little in the trials, but they all looked pretty dumb]

[penduli]

[ yeah, especially yosuke ]

So only slightly dumb faces. That's what you're saying, right?

[garudynamic]

Just a little.

[penduli]

[ How mean, Black... gently shoves him with his shoulder. It's sort of weird being friendly enough with someone to do this, actually, which might explain why he scoots away before any retaliation can come. ]

At least they're not like yours, I guess.
