Fifth.
| The klaxons blare out early on Friday morning, as always. Depending on how late you were out at the party last night, they might not be very welcome, but at least it seems the Kingmaker isn't having any difficulties with them today. The Vault's setup has always been a bit unfortunate on Fridays – the fact that the view from the dorms is a straight shot down the corridor tends to make it completely and immediately obvious when something is wrong. It isn't blood this time; there are no large crimson stains splashed around the hallway or leading outward from one of the rooms. What is there, however, is a person lying on the floor near the stairwell. That doesn't bode well, does it. >Explore? |

Cherryblod was sort of hoping to magically avoid seeing a corpse today, but if he can see one from the moment he exits his room, he has to make a straight dash to the stairwell.
So. Who is it?]

The body at the bottom of the stairwell is almost immediately recognizable, for better or for worse; there's some blood on his face, granted, but not nearly enough to obscure his features, and even if it were to be that much, the long, dark hair and tall stature are more than enough to be telling.
Tarrlok is dead.]

Tarrlok....

[Or get pushed. Probably pushed]

[They are all just crowded around him, aren't they?]
We'll have to figure it out soon, regardless.

...No body announcement, though.
Wonder why that is.]
no subject
Uhm... has anyone checked his pulse?
no subject
Sure. Sure, let's check his pulse. Is he dead, Jim?]

[You know, that is right. Should be done.
Mouri checks Tarrlok's pulse, just in case, although he isn't harboring much hopes of he being alive]

Why didn't the announcement go off?

He's looking up at the ceiling.]
Strange. Suppose we're supposed to hear the Kingmaker and his bloody speech by now.
no subject
Shouldn't we have an announcement by now?
...Excuse me. I'm going upstairs.
[He's even more worried now.]

[Sigrun'll pat his back. She should feel less relieved because that's fucked up, but you know what, this is fine.]
We've got our part to play too, rookie. Sniff out another good piece for us this week.
no subject
Shouldn't we have a body announcement by now, like we've had the other times?
no subject
Yeah, we should. So... does that mean there's more, or is he just asleep on the job?
no subject
...there's not a rule saying someone can't commit two or more murders in one go. [ but uh
look he isn't. going to go looking for a body, here. ]

He kneels down next to the body. Tarrlok is somebody he'd considered a friend, so - at times like this, he keenly feels that he has no idea what to say.]
I'm sorry.
[After a moment where he struggles for more words and none come to him, he gets up again.]
I'll... go see about getting the detectives and the doctor.

[Mouri gets ready for the usual investigation]
no subject
Time to get this thing started.]

...
...
And that would be his heart sinking.
He swallows hard, not able to find words at the moment. He was admittedly concerned about Tarrlok and even checked in with him last night, but...
He's suddenly very glad Klinklang isn't out here to see this.]

[Stan's been worried about him, but...damn.]
