WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

[Hey, Jasper. Gangrel lowers the sword and grins. It's not exactly the evil smirk he usually has going on, but something pleased and excited.]

Of course I do! I wouldn't be a very successful Plegian king if I couldn't fight my way to the top!

There's a difference between having it be said and seeing it in person.

[Lusamine smiles a bit, absently. Though she waves her hand once she notices Gangrel putting the sword away.]

Pay me no mind. I wouldn't mind continuing to watch. It's rather fascinating.

Well, I don't suppose it would hurt any to go swimming.

[...the second bit causes her to pause for a moment, but she shakes her head.]

It's fine. Chlorine can't possibly be any worse than the ocean. Dears, come on out!

[She promptly lets the both of them out--the very second Clefable's able to see the pool, she runs and flops right in like a Ducklett to water. Lilligant...kind of hops around, looking at it. Either way, Lusamine starts for the changing room.]

I'll be back out in a moment. Dears, do be careful in there, won't you?

[introspects]

[ The first thing Orihime does the instant she hears someone scream is run to the source. If someone's getting hurt, if someone's in danger, she needs to help. She can stop it. She can save them this time and keep anyone from--

the laughter kicks in right after, and Orihime pauses. It...it was a false alarm?

Nevertheless, she enters the vending machine, looking highly concerned for whoever's in there and almost expecting there to be something horrible. But...it's just-- ]

Watanuki-kun...?

[introspects]

[ Today is not a good day for either of them, it seems. Orihime's going about her usual routine as best as she can, when she sees Hanyuu walking into her room. She takes note of Hanyuu's gloomy expression and immediately grows concerned.

Orihime walks to her room and gets there right as the door closes. Hanyuu probably wants some alone time, but Orihime's going to at least try to talk to her. Knock knock. ]

[alchemicals]

I'd like that, actually.

[For a lot of reasons.]

I've been really pissed off about my alchemy not working here, so having it back in general would be great. Guess it's obvious why the Wordsmith did...whatever he did to cut me off, me and Kira both, but it's pretty annoying either way.

["Annoying." About as much of a euphemism as "hurting people" and "fireworks" by now - he doesn't have a lot of tact, that much is true, but he's figured out how to temper his speech a bit somewhere along the line.]

[alchemicals]

[He just kind of...sighs a bit, though it's in that exaggerated way that implies he's not really put-out and is entirely willing to humor the guy for now; he walks into the room a bit to give himself a bit of space, and then gives himself a few steps' lead-in before planting his left hand down and just sort of having at.

It's obviously not something he usually does for the sake of it - he doesn't come out of it standing, he lands crouched in a defensive position on the floor and he's got his hands slightly raised and tense at his sides like he's prepared to pull a weapon of some sort - but at the same time, it is one-handed and not...entirely terrible, either.

(It's. Rather fortunately one-handed, because it looks as though one of his hands has been bandaged-up by Mercy now that it's actually visible, but he seems none the worse for wear and he's quick to shove his hands back in his pockets once he's standing up.)

...He kind of stumbles forward upon standing because he's still the least coordinated person in the building when he's not doing shit like whatever he just did, but we can't have everything.]

...Like I said. Not as good as I used to be, but not completely useless.

...I mean, I'm usually the one doing the beating, but nah, that's cool.

[He'll go over and pick one up, then.]

I mean, it's good for the soul. It works pretty great as a pick-me-up.

[he'll set it down there a bit awkwardly, because he has no idea how to approach this situation.]

And it even turned out okay this time? Usually it ends up pretty sludgy at the bottom, but it's pretty consistent.

Thanks. I must seem really damn out of it if you're bringing me stuff like this, but it's appreciated.

[ It is a relief to hear that someone hasn't gotten accustomed to people dying here, even if he's accepted himself that people do eventually pass on. ]

That's right. Ah, but, if you ever do feel like you need to talk about anything, I will be one of those willing to listen.

[ He certainly won't press and is quite content to move on, though. Time waits for no one. ]

...Hmm, it is a little hard to believe we've been here for more than a few weeks, isn't it?

[firstaid]

[She feels like she understands that regret, but there's two ways a person could respond. Either wallow in it, or use it to strengthen themselves. She feels like Killia is stuck right in between.]

As I've said, if I die it will be my own fault. However, I'm fighting to make sure that won't happen. I can't speak for Lieze or Christo, but I can speak for myself. The only thing you could do to stop anything would be to stay by their side all the time. Otherwise, we're on our own.

[firstaid]

Yes they are. We'll fight together and we will make it out of here. To see our friends again.

[She holds out her hand.]

So let's do everything we can to get out without doing what the Wordsmith wants of us.

[firstaid]

[Estelle continues to hold on to her, rubbing her back to comfort her. It can't be easy to take on these sins and to watch people she enjoyed being around die, to watch them give in to the incentives for good reasons.]

You've been doing everything you can, Hanyuu. Thank you for being there for us and supporting us. I'm sorry the Wordsmith is doing this to you.

[firstaid]

Even so, being stuck in an enclosed space like that... I don't think even a spirit would like that.

[ It's cute... Mikazuki wants to pet him. He is also sure Kogitsunemaru would have loved to see the fox. ]

I had no idea you were acquainted well with such an adorable little friend.

[ He'll smile a bit and look at his sheath lying on the floor. ]

Is his excitement in greeting you the reason why all of this is on the ground?

Even so, aren't there better outfits suited for the desert heat? With that kind of outfit, I would worry about sunburn...

[Which is worse than just being hot.]

My, then I suppose I know where to come if I am in a pinch?

[ He'll wait patiently until the other man is ready before he will consider throwing one. \o/ ]

[ It's not that bad...but on one hand, he actually likes to get in quite a lot of exercise and that's putting it mildly. ]

Hahaha. I do not mind reading, even though it's the first time I've read a book in my life, but I was getting quite tired of not having a space like this.

Wouldn't it be a shame if our skills had dulled completelY?

He, er...he kinda jumped on my face as soon as he came out of the vending machine. I didn't even know it was him at first.

[If it helps, Mugetsu looks just as apologetic as Watanuki does?]

He didn't mean any harm though, I promise! He's probably been stuck in this thing for a few weeks and was just happy to get out.

Well then, I guess that answers that.

[To the kitchen they go! But it's going to be a meat-heavy dish today, since Mugetsu is a fox and all. Gotta eat that meat.]

You don't mind him being there in your hair like that?

It's alright. It must have been a terrible memory, for you to be upset like this.

Yeah, he was the last thing to come out. I don't know if I can carry all of this stuff at once anyway.

[That sheath, yeah...]

I don't think that thing is gonna fit the sword I got.
