WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. [ She laughs that off, waving a hand dismissively. ]

Whatever demons or devils existed I always figured were just in the souls of humans.

Not a problem at all. [It wasn't the kind of food he was used to, but Watanuki was a good cook. He also doubted that anyone here would be able to cook up a dish from the Free Marches or something from Orlais. Besides, he wouldn't complain about free food.]

[A talk with Hawke, a chance to say goodbye... It was better than nothing, and a hell of a lot better than killing kids to get it. His shoulders loosened, and he nodded to the man]

Painful. [Let's not mince words.] I foolishly thought...that just because you were in a place with the same species, that it wouldn't be hard to live with a semblance of peace. ...But still, the world of demons...I should have known better. I'm sorry.

[She bows her head, gently.]

[ And she plants herself to leap over the bar! Apparently, she pre-planned this, because what she produces is a drawing of her entire family. She pushes it towards the other woman over the side of the bar, her eyes alight. ]

I have three grandchildren. Three. My James... [ God that still hurts ] My James might be gone, but he's given me an enormous gift.

[ Hanyuu will have seen Karin before, and she saw a drawing of the four-year old Ren. Anju is new entirely, as is this new 21-year-old Ren. Hanyuu may or may not have seen sketches of Elda's son and his wife before, but they're there too. ]

You were stuck there with...a terrorist...but because you had information from- from other versions of reality, other fragments, you could figure it out and get the rest of you safely out alive?

The whole thing was a setup to get my and Sigma's consciousnesses back to 2028, though, since it was also 2074 and neither of us knew it.

That was the "AB Project". Akane and... well, I suppose from my perspective now, Sigma's past self... set it up.

I have no easy answers of what to do moving forward, but, I... As someone...who questioned her own elders, I want you to know that I'm proud of you, no matter how confusing or difficult this is.

[ He shakes his head, trying to clear his thoughts.]

There's always war between some factions of demons, but there are places of peace too. I just wasn't born in one of them.

[introspects]

[ Orihime takes a seat at Hanyuu's desk, not wanting to sit on her bed or anything--that'd just be wrong.

So, needless to say, it doesn't take long for her to spot those hairpins on Hanyuu's desk.

Orihime takes them into her hands and stares at them as if they're most expensive of diamonds, the most valuable of treasures--and they're worth so much more than any of that.

When Hanyuu comes back out, Orihime will give her a wide-eyed look. ]

What? So...you had to find a specific door?

[ ... ] ...Does that mean that you...?

We didn't exactly need to find the X-Door. It was always there, it was just password-locked six times over.

[They couldn't open it.]

The bomb went off. Eric, one of the people on Q-team, died instantly. The shrapnel tore off Sigma's arms and his right eye. I didn't really get a good look at Q, a mystery person I don't know anything about, but he looked like a little kid with a big round helmet.

Mira, on the other hand...

[introspects]

[ She nods, smiling sadly and wistfully at him. ]

You're my friend, Nikiforov-san, so... I have a matching one on my wrist too, see?

[ And there it is, right after Jasper's! ]

[introspects]

M...Me?

[ She was definitely not expecting that at all. She meant it when she said she wasn't going to give up, but Hanyuu sounds so...impressed, so sincere, and Orihime doesn't hear those words very often. ]

No, I-I'm just...I just want to help...that's all.
