WEEK 6.

WEEK 6 With the deaths of Viktor Nikiforov, Varric Tethras, and Killia, you're down to half of your original number. There's only fifteen of you left. How much longer before your number drops again? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Of course, that doesn't mean that you've gained nothing else among the many, many losses you've faced; it seems that another floor has been made available to you for surviving another week. [ . . . Well, that's giving her a lot of ponder. Not even a need to check the men's then, probably. ]

[ Mikazuki doesn't pull himself away even when she loosens her embrace with him, he can only at this time, look down at her, lips turned up into another smile, and it's something that he manages at this point out of habit, almost close to how he was able to do so easily earlier in the weeks before everything took a nosedive. ]

I don't fault you for it, not at all in the slightest, so it is alright. I understand how you feel.

[ ... He really does. He doesn't want her to feel ashamed for how she feels, when they're going through things like this together. ]

I'll stay as long as you need me to.

I'm not dying here.

[He sets down the half-eaten bowl of ice cream, and he takes the rice. Gotta avoid that brain freeze.]

...say, Silver. How can you tell the difference between 'being awake' and 'being in a dream'?

[feistytrader]

[...The difference between being awake and in a dream? That's...]

You can't tell until you wake up, right?

[Sometimes you can tell, sometimes you can't. Especially with these weird memory dreams.]

[ He moves so he can make his hand meet his. Almost kind of like when someone is giving a high-five, but his momentum was too slow for that, and so it's just... him simply patting his hand flat against the red head's instead.

He remembers seeing two of his friends (Kashuu and Yamatonokami) do it back at the citadel. ]

Because of this. A few friends did this back at home after successful teamwork, and you helped me figure out something important when it was a bit hard to think things through, so why not?

But how do you know when you woke up? Or how do you know when you've fallen asleep again?

[feistytrader]

[...Well, his answer to that is simple enough; he lifts up Weavile and holds him out as if that explains everything. But there's something more to it, right?]

Are you having trouble with your dreams?

[It's an admittedly open ended question, but he figures that Watanuki dreamed about something pretty bad, and if he answers with that, that's okay too.]

[foundfate]

[Yeah, that is completely a non-answer, and it just makes Watanuki frown. But instead of getting pissy about it, he'll explain.]

I know I'm awake right now, I can tell that everything in this school has been real. ...I'm pretty sure, at least.

[There is no way he could have imagined up 29 other people like that, plus weird shit like pokemon and dwarves.]

But some of my memories from home are real, and some of them are dreams. And my memory is so patchy that I can't tell which ones are which.

Well, I mean, I can guess at some of them being real- the stuff involving my eye has to be, or else it wouldn't be brown right now. But other stuff, it's hard to tell.

M-Maybe...

I'm...actually trying to think of... Oh, don't think me too strange, but I'm leaving something here for everyone, at this shrine that Watanuki and I set up.

[oyashiromama]

I think I'd like that sometime, I think. Just speaking of the places we've come from, you know?

[She nods.]

For the shrine I've set up. I'm not...a hanakotoba expert, but I'd like to put a few there...or see if I could find some sakura blossoms.

[feistytrader]

[...That's pretty damn heavy, and he stops and sits down on the floor, idly petting Weavile in his lap as he considers how to answer it. With his memories, there was never a question of whether or not they were real. He has his Pokédex with entries of Pokémon he's only met in those memories. He had Gold remembering the same things. But there's the possibility that it could all be some elaborate illusion set up by an Alakazam too, and he wouldn't know the difference.]

I'm a simple person. I don't think about things like that very much. No matter how much evidence there is pointing to everything being real, there's a chance that it isn't. For all I know, that shadow thing made all of this up, and we're all asleep right now.

[It's a possibility, and he's not sure how he feels about it.]

It might be better if this is all a dream. Half of us wouldn't really be dead. Most of my memories have been terrible. But if you ask me, it doesn't matter if any of it is real. Real or not, your memories affect you. They shape who you are, how you feel, and what you do.

I've decided what I want to do here. I've decided that I care about you and a lot of others in here, and I want as many of us to get out as possible. And maybe once we're all out of here, we'll go home, pick up our lives and try to move on, and this will all seem like some distant dream or nightmare anyway. But we've experienced it, and it's impacted us. That's what makes it real to me.

[...Or that's what he thinks, anyway. He plays with Weavile's hands a little; Weavile looks up at him reassuringly, then looks at Watanuki with a good deal of concern.]

...I wonder if I should be concerned.

[The last person who admired that about her wanted to cut off her hands, so. You know.]

It would be an insult to be anything less than perfection. Even in a dismal place such as this.

[oyashiromama]

Of course. Unless you'd feel more comfortable somewhere else.

[The shattered look Hanyuu's had the last two Sundays, that is something Estelle will not see. Instead, there's a fire in her. A fire that hasn't burned like this in... Well, not once in the time she's been here.]

I'll do whatever you wish.

[foundfate]

[Oh, they're sitting now? Okay, sitting can be a thing. It takes Watanuki a moment to get to the floor, though, as he's still holding the bowl of rice. Which he is still eating, by the way, because this talk isn't as heavy to him as it is to Silver. He remembers being upset over it already, so being upset a second time won't help.]

'If you wish hard enough, you can make anything real.' That's what Yuuko told me, when I asked her if anything I had lived was real. So...I guess if you wish hard enough, then your dreams can be real too. It doesn't just have to be a memory to be 'real'.

[He pauses for a moment.]

What is your wish, by the way? To just go home, pick up your life, and try to move on?

[oyashiromama]

[It does... Hanyuu doesn't quite know what to do with this, but she'll ask:]

Do you remember what that important something is...or not?

[introspects]

I had a feeling it would be something like that.

[ while her dream was very...bittersweet, she's had her fair share of bad ones over the past few weeks. this is, undoubtedly, the best one she'd had since she arrived here. ]

What happened?

[introspects]

...I see...

[ looking at it now, she can already start to make out which items belong to who. it makes her feel lonely, suddenly, but she quickly shoves the feeling to the back of her mind. ]

I guess I'll have something to contribute in a few days, too.

[oyashiromama]

You live in the woods?

[...I mean, Hanyuu, you lived in a swamp for like, forty years-]

Whatever lead to that?

[She pets Weavile.]

[ hello mom thing, don't mind orihime suddenly appearing right next to you! she's here to check out the new floor, too, but...it's almost the same as the other one. huh. ]

kitchen

[introspects]

Estelle-san!

[ she's entering the kitchen right as estelle pours out what appears to be...curry? it smells like curry, definitely.

suddenly, she realizes what might be happening. tentatively, orihime approaches her with curious eyes. ]

You're...hard at work, aren't you?

[oyashiromama]

I know. But we all need a little assistance every once in awhile, don't we?

[She sets it down on a table, and- oh, the only thing she forgot is a drink, oops.]

I didn't know how much sauce you like, so I just decided to bring the bottle along instead.

greenhouse

[oyashiromama]

I hadn't realized you're so interested in different sorts of flora.

[Hanyuu's rather fond of the greenhouse it seems, having brought her lunch here to eat! Impromptu picnic.]

[matchbreaker]

[ Oh. Elda actually looks stricken, briefly wide-eyed with recognition, her emotions wavering as if she's not sure if she should apologize or not. Though she recovers from that quickly, exhaling. ]

Still, the brush in my bathroom at least was not to the standard of my personal one. I was most grateful when that appeared from that vending machine.
