With the deaths of Viktor Nikiforov, Varric Tethras, and Killia, you're down to half of your original number. There's only fifteen of you left.

How much longer before your number drops again?

Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost...

Of course, that doesn't mean that you've gained nothing else among the many, many losses you've faced; it seems that another floor has been made available to you for surviving another week.

Congratulations and well done, even if you might not necessarily appreciate the reward.

Well, the one that's metal in particular takes up a lot of space in my room, and it's not like I'm using them!

I will! The rest of this can probably be burned though. You've certainly collected a lot of useless things!

I thought so too. I mean, [ And with some effort she lifts up the head-sized moon rock. ]

Why would this even be in the machine?

I haven't gotten a rock out of the machine before. That seems completely pointless.

[...well, considering how pointless a lot of this stuff is—]

Well, for me, the food's the most useless part! But I guess all of you guys to eat that...

[ She hefts the rock a few more times before recalling: ]

At least this is a full rock though! The other day I got some rubble.

...You've gotten rubble and a rock from this machine? Has it just run out of things to spit at us?

How should I know! [ And she puts the rock down, oof. With her reduced strength here that's actually a little bit heavy, or at least a little bit ungainly.

So instead she'll heft up the giant tuning fork as if it were a sword or something. It looks bonus-silly given that she's still sitting, but. ]

Have you tried out this thing? It's big and useless to me, but it's funny how it vibrates when you hit things.

I have! I've gotten a couple of them from the machine and I made the mistake of slamming it against the wall! I thought my hands would never stop shaking!

[HE SOUNDS SO THRILLED THOUGH.... listen sometimes simple pleasures are the best, okay.]

They definitely were pretty funny for a hot second there!

[ She laughs, setting the thing down. And she rocks back on her tush a bit.

... Man this costume is riding some. It's big and loose but that makes it bunch up when she sits ]

So what's the thing you've most liked out of the machine?

The swords, of course! It's good to have something familiar here.

Wait, actually... The Fire Emblem. Definitely that.

[right, definitely the thing he really wanted back home and yet never actually got until now, yep]

What's that? A flag?

No, it's a shield. Not a particularly useful one, mind you. It's more of a magical artifact of great power than anything else, but it can't do anything without all the gemstones.

[He sounds sort of puzzled, like he's genuinely not sure what to make of this. Gangrel is one again having A Feeling and it's very difficult.]

[ . . . ]

Wait, so you got a magic shield that gives a lot of power? That's really something!

[ So why does he look confused... ]

Well it would, but none of the other gems have fallen out so it's not magical yet.

[Shrug!]

[ ? ? ? Ok ]

Can't you just jam more gems in? I've got a diamond.

It doesn't work like that. They're very specific gems, scattered throughout the world or something. Legends weren't very clear on that, since most Plegians hate the Fire Emblem's existence.

Oh. ... So it's a shield treasure map thing!

...More or less, actually. Though the shield doesn't tell you where the gems are. At least, I don't think it can do that.

[...BUT MAYBE IT CAN?? it's the fucking fire emblem, who knows]

Honestly, that seems like a right hassle to have to go on a big treasure hunt on top of just getting the thing.

Well, I didn't know it would be missing the jewels. Sure, I heard that legend and all, but it's not like I've ever put much faith in legends.
