Week 3.

WEEK 3

Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

Art Room

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-14 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Colress figures before nighttime hits, he should make a stop to the art storage room for some more supplies before retiring to his room. He's a little surprised to find Sigrun on the way there, figuring the others would be spending most of their time exploring the new floor.]

Ah, hello, Miss Sigrun.

[He can't help but take a peek at her work as he makes his way through the room. He ends up stopping near her, though.]

Working with both hands, eh? Impressive! [...] You know, it's now hitting me that we haven't seen the sun in two weeks. At least we have your artistic skill to compensate.
captainobnoxious: (12 matter o' fact kids)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-14 06:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[They really haven't huh. Sigrun pauses in her painting to think about this, but returns to it soon enough.]

It's for someone in particular, but if everyone's astounded by my abilities I'll hang some up around this place to remind everyone of what peace looks like. I mean, what's better than the sunset? You get to sleep afterwards!
pokexplorer: (❖ jokingly)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-15 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
While I do not speak for everyone obviously, I don't see why that would hurt. It would at least add some character to the dinginess.

[It is interesting to hear her refer to such basic ways of the world as 'peace' though. He can't say he disagrees now that he thinks about it. Some things are taken way too much for granted.]

You know...I could see such drawings looking nice near the clock. Being able to see the sunset instead of simply numbers on a board telling us night draws near could do wonders. Don't you think?
captainobnoxious: (19 yeah that's broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-15 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[You learn to take things at face value when you live in a world like hers. Sunrise means you survive another day and sunset means sleep in preparation for another -- provided trolls don't overrun you. They're simple beauties.]

You're the scientist here, bub, you if you think it'll look nice then I'll trust you and hang some up sometime.

[NOT THAT... BEING A SCIENTIST HAS ANYTHING TO DO ABOUT IT, BUT HE'S SMART, SO.]

Maybe you can do some too. What's the sunrise-sunset like in your world? Since you don't have to really worry about the kinda stuff I've dealt with first thing in the morn.
pokexplorer: (❖ reassuring)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-16 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, I look forward to it. I am sure the others will appreciate it as well.

[Look he'll take any opportunity to be seen as an authority on something. So. Sure, he can be the sunrise-sunset designator.

As he considers Sigrun's question, he takes a seat at the table.]

Sunrise and sunset in my world are similar to the ones you are painting now. However, since I do a lot of traveling by air, I often witness both while high up in the clouds over Unova or the surrounding ocean. There is a sense of openness up there, and...as you said, peace. But possibly a peace that is different from yours.
captainobnoxious: (16 what have we here)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-16 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
How is it you can touch the clouds? Do you grow wings or is it one of those monsters you were going on about?

[The ones that she and Stan are Sure don't exist.]
pokexplorer: (❖ sparkle)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-17 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, it is via an aircraft! No Pokemon or wings involved.

[...For the most part.]
captainobnoxious: (19 yeah that's broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-17 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[...]

That sounds pretty fake, but alright. I'll try and believe you.

[she doesn't believe him one bit.]
pokexplorer: (❖ oh?)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-18 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, does your world not have them...?

[That actually surprises Colress. For some reason he thought Sigrun would know all about this stuff.]

What sounds unbelievable about it? I am happy to explain.
captainobnoxious: (08 you sure you're not 16)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-18 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[They lost that nearly a century ago. Ships, they still have, even metal ones. Cars too in some parts of the world, mostly carriages though. Planes are just scrap metal now.]

What's an aircraft, first off?
pokexplorer: (❖ doin science)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-18 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
An aircraft is a machine that is capable of flight. To put it simply, it is built to counter gravity in order to stay airborne, and takes in air to propel forward.

[He'll look to Sigrun to make sure she follows. He's trying to break his habit of being overly-technical.]

They can be built to fit a single person to an entire crew.
captainobnoxious: (06 don't talk much? too bad! i do!)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-18 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[That's followable, yeah. Good job.]

That's pretty awesome! Are they the things with wings on them? I've climbed over my fair share from where the oldworlders left them, but I didn't know how they could be up in the air! They always looked too heavy since they're made of metal.
pokexplorer: (❖ observation)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-19 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
That's correct! The aircraft I use does have wings. Six, to be exact! It also has sails, as it is designed to also serve as a seafaring vessel when need be. But yes, despite the metal structure, they can remain in the sky quite easily with enough force.

[Why only have a plane when you can have an airship, basically.]

So your world did have them at one point, though...I see. I wonder if there is a way for them to become operational again? It would take someone with the knowledge to power them, of course.
captainobnoxious: (19 yeah that's broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-20 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
[.................]

Like a boat for the sky? That's so weird, but it makes sense since boats already float.

[Yes.]

And anyone who knew how they worked died like, a hundred years ago or something, so unless we find books for it we're going nowhere fast. The Danes probably have an idea though. They like collecting useless things.
pokexplorer: (❖ doin science)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-20 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
An airship, one might say!

[He's not going to challenge her logic on the floating...]

Are they a group that you are affiliated with? I highly recommend seeking books if there is a possibility of them existing. I think aircrafts might be a good aid to your cause...from what I have heard, at least.
captainobnoxious: (57 on and on and on)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-20 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeaaaah, we're kind of with them, but not really. They're a little ways across the sea from our southern point and they're losers who can't fight worth a damn, so we just consider them huge nerds like you.

[... Sorry...]
pokexplorer: (❖ pleased)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-20 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
So they are intellectuals, then.

[HE'S GETTING SURPRISINGLY USED TO IT...]

...You know though, Miss Sigrun, it feels oddly strange to be perceived as powerless here, because it would not be seen like that at all back in Unova. Without my Pokemon, it does become rather glaring that all of my own strength lies with them.
captainobnoxious: (12 matter o' fact kids)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-03-20 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Then I hope you get one soon, because otherwise you're easy pickings. Like a handful of others here.

[which... sigrun really has no problems with, because]

I'll protect you until then though. That's what the strong do.
pokexplorer: (❖ calmly)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-03-20 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Believe me, I am holding out all the hope I can that I will find at least one of them soon...

[That isn't to say he completely agrees that he's easy pickings without them. He just has to be a little more strategic than normal.

He does smile at that last bit though. There's a little bit of surprise in it too, because he can't say he expected Sigrun to say that.]

You will, now? My, how comforting! [That is not sarcasm at all, since...well, Sigrun's more than proven herself at this point.] You have my thanks.

...Perhaps I can do the same, once I find my Pokemon. Either way, I would love to at least show you one sometime.
