trusthell | Week 3.

WEEK 3
Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

[Damn, there's even food this time. Thanks for being great at meetings, Bruce, even if he's not going to eat until he's done talking.]

I think the first order of business should be a little pre-planning in the event that the Kingmaker decides to throw another reason for us to kill each other out this week. We don't really know when or if it'll come, but it did work out well for him last week, didn't it? There's no reason for him not to try it again, and I'm honestly surprised he hasn't thrown something at us yet.

But what else could he use to encourage a murder? Even if he has a machine to save people like somebody suggested a week ago there isn't much to offer besides that.

Nobody is going to fall for that incentive twice, right?

I dunno, a few people where....tempted by it, right?

You can't really blame them, though. If it works, it works...a lot of people here have people back home who are really important to them!

But I'm sure that once he sees that doesn't work anymore, he'll try something else...

Yeah. Like, hell I'll admit it. I thought about it too. And I know I wasn't the only one.

Well, depends on what it is, right? I guess if it was like, a big secret, probably not.

If it's bad enough that someone would kill over it...

Something they couldn't stand even strangers knowing? It'd have to be REALLY bad... I mean, I've done some stupid shit, but-

[It's something Bruce can easily relate to - he's got a whole bunch of secrets of his own, after all. Things he know he can never share no matter what. Its easy enough to see how that can go to taking decisive action.]

From last week, we can already see that the Kingmaker will use anything he feels necessary to have somebody take action. For all his claims of 'giving us a choice', he's essentially driving all of us to a corner.

No one's gonna admit to havin' a big secret. But everybody's got one.

Can't exactly lump them into one heap, though. Everyone's got secrets... but there's no telling how big one is... until it's out there.

[Stan shrugs.]

That's what I'm sayin'. There's no way to know what anybody's hidin'.

There is an easy way to solve that!

I think most of us were a little. I don't think... there's anything innately wrong with that, right?

Can't say there is. It's as miss Misa-Misa said: lots of folks probably have someone they want returned to them safe and sound.

Yeah. It's what we do with the information that's important. We can't just give him what he wants every time!
