Week 3.
Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept... Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done. |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

MEETING...?, PART THREE
"...elevator in Switzerland."
"So you heard none of it."
"I'm sorry. ...I'm not that kind of doctor; I'm not a therapist, it's not my training. I don't have the..."
"What? The time?"
"...temperament.")
Bruce honestly still doesn't know what to make of that particular dream, as much as it fills him with immense relief. Was that all actually real, or was it...? Well, he could think about that in time. Now there were more important things at hand.
Just as with the last two weeks there's the usual notice taped in its usual spot by now from early in the morning, the familiar handwriting from Bruce calling anybody interested for their quickly-usual weekly meeting at 11AM in the dining hall. It's a bit hard to take in the fact how slowly used they are becoming to this, but having a routine is good. It helps to keep them grounded in some fashion, to keep them all hanging on in some way or another.
In an attempt to raise some morale too, Bruce has finally taken to try and make food for everyone who comes to the meeting as well - should they arrive for the meeting they will see a pot of chicken stew with empty bowls at the side, and a small paper sign that says FEEL FREE TO EAT. There's a ladle to scoop the stew into their own bowls and also cutlery to eat said stew.
Bruce gives everyone who comes some time to get their bowls of stew and settle down before he promptly begins the meeting.]
Alright, let's begin. Is there anything anybody wants to ask or to share among us?
[His notebook's already out to do the usual note-taking; they'll go through everything one by one, as much as they can manage.]

I think the first order of business should be a little pre-planning in the event that the Kingmaker decides to throw another reason for us to kill each other out this week. We don't really know when or if it'll come, but it did work out well for him last week, didn't it? There's no reason for him not to try it again, and I'm honestly surprised he hasn't thrown something at us yet.

Nobody is going to fall for that incentive twice, right?

Well. I don't suppose everyone had weird dreams again, did you?

Dreamed I lost a fight to a demon, and only narrowly managed not to be killed.
Wasn't exactly a fun dream.

...I've dreamed about it before, but not like that.

Mine was... it was a continuation of the previous one from last week, I believe.
[Everything seemed to click in there, anyway.]

I figured it would get brought up eventually. I dreamed I was in the same place as the last dream, though I couldn't call it a disaster yet. Seems I was confronting this menacing bloke with Mister Joestar.
[...Hm?]
Mister Joestar...

My dream last night made a little more sense than the one I had last week, but not by much.

[It was fucking awesome.]
We'd decided on a new place to camp after our scout led us to a snow drift we couldn't burn through, checked out some building a braidy guy claimed had weird ghosts in it, and I protected that same guy -- who was non-immune -- from a little troll about the size of my head.
It sure hurt like hell too, and honestly I'm on board with the whole memories thing that was talked about last week.

...I think. Their names are on the Caster Memorial in Central Park--that's for Casters who lost their lives saving the city from total destruction are, so it's not a hard deduction to make.

But I got better? It was really weird. We fought a god.

...the only noteworthy thing to report is that I seem to have gained a fan of sorts, a new student in my daughter's class who is starting to come to my office very often. It doesn't seem like he is important, other than he is terribly clumsy and wants to play second banana to me.
[Mouri is pretty much non concerned about his dreams. As far as he knows and sees, there's nothing to suspect.
Ignorance is bliss]

I did have another dream. Someone I cared deeply about apparently took the life of my master.
I'm still not convinced he did--even if it was just a dream.

Misa-Misa...was at a job interview, with the Yotsuba Corporation. They're a big business association, and they were looking for a new spokesperson...and while I was there, I met with a friend on my way to the restroom. But I didn't recognize my friend, even though I should have...so we were reacquainted, and she told me some...interesting information about the Kira case.
[ That's...probably the best way to put it without getting too much into specifics. ]

[Regardless of that.]
Basically my partner came back to protect me.

Mine also seemed to be a continuation of the previous week's. After the tournament I mentioned, I apparently attempted to talk some young trainers out of confronting a dangerous organization that had their ship docked south of the tournament grounds. They had no idea what they were going to be faced with, just waltzing over to where they could easily be outnumbered. It was utterly senseless.
[Profile dislike namedrop!]
...They did not listen to me, naturally.

[ For a split second, he also seems to... grow a small, second head during his low tone, similar to the picture used for his profile. But it's gone in the next moment--did you imagine that? Predictably, he'll be dodging inquiries about it. ]

[AND BOY DOES SHE SOUND UNHAPPY ABOUT IT.]
It felt extremely realistic just like last week.
no subject
So, I was talking to Bruce last night about this, but-
-we've all pretty much guessed that the Pearl we saw probably wasn't real. So that means the Kingmaker might... be able to copy any of us. Or even people we know from our homes.
[The implications aren't said. He doesn't want to SAY 'Pearl and Caren might have died for a lie'. It's too cruel]
So... it might be a good idea to not trust anything he offers us after this. Even if it's right there and we can see it. Okay?
no subject
[Well, now he's doubly glad he didn't act on that motive. It probably shows that he's ashamed to have even considered it, now.
Just keep thinking that your world is fine, Cherryblod. It'll get you through eventually.]
You're right. He's not reliable for any reason. Certainly not for anything worth killing twenty people over.

[As terrible as it is, it probably needs to be said.
And Bruce has been thinking of a few other things with that train of thought... but its best to not voice them out at this time.]

Miss Misa made this suggestion to me after--well, what happened, especially in the last two weeks, and I'd like to ask for everyone's opinions on it first.
Essentially, in addition to Mister Tarrlok's night patrol, an additional curfew would be imposed on ourselves along with the Kingmaker's nighttime alarm. This curfew just makes it that everyone who isn't involved with the night patrol that night should stay in their own rooms until nighttime is over. In this manner, it would add another layer of security to prevent incidents from occurring.
I don't wish to enforce this on everyone, but it would be rather beneficial, so I'd like to first get everyone's opinion on the matter.
