WEEK 5
Three more have joined the deceased this past week. Taichi Yagami was punished for breaking a rule, Megumi Sakura was killed, and Norman Bates... well, the less said about Norman, the better.

A third of you are dead now; your losses are becoming more and more evident with each passing week.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fifth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you'll probably need the distraction after the last trial.

Well, there's no way I can get stronger than you, but, as long as I get a bit of meat on! Maybe Misa-Misa's finally gonna be able to bench the bar!

I try to keep a really flexible schedule, though! I was thinking of doing something for the group on Thursday night, but, that aside, whatever works for you will work for Misa-Misa.

How willing are you to get up before the alarms?

Well, the alarms are usually what wake me up to begin with...if you knock on my door, I'll get up, though!

Great! It won't be too long before it, maybe around five or so, train for an hour, get some relaxation in, and then eat breakfast!

Ooooh, this is gonna be so much fun~! I haven't gotten to train someone in a while! Everyone just keeps wanting to fight me, which I'm fine with since I'll win anyway.

[ Well, to her credit, it doesn't seem like Misa terribly minds herself, even in the hot sauna! ]

That doesn't sound like it's so bad! If I go to bed a little earlier, it should be okay...what kind of workout is it? Will it be lots of running? Or like, kick boxing? It sounds like it could be pretty fun, actually. Misa-Misa has a lot of stamina, you know!

Good to hear! I'll start you off on something to toughen up that squishy body of yours, [with pokes and prods to boot,] and then we'll get into some hand to hand combat that'll be second nature by the time I'm through with you. Anyone who looks you funny will be finding themselves flat on their back!

It's not that squishy! Actually, it's more boney than anything...

Hand-to-hand combat, huh...that might come in handy, actually. Misa-Misa does have to deal with her fair share of stalkers sometimes...

Because of your job? Honestly, never would want to do what you and bombshell do, seems too separate to me. What's the point of having a lot of people know you if they don't know you? Not that I don't have my share of secrets and all, but... it's weird.

Well, I'm sure there are lots of people that only like Misa-Misa because she's a pretty face. But there are other people who I'd like to think are really inspired by the stuff I do, or want to think of Misa-Misa as a role model...even if they don't really know me, they feel like they do, and that's what's important to me.

And just because a couple of people go overboard doesn't mean all of Misa-Misa's fans are horrible perverts, after all. It's not like they're criminals or anything. ...Unless they are, in which case, well, that's a different story entirely.

That I get. I'm sure plenty of people are inspired by you! I mean, who wouldn't be? You're always trying to act so strong for everyone when things get rough, it's one of the things that I like best about you! Even if you've gotta have time for yourself too.

[And the biggest difference between her and Mettaton, Sigrun feels, though at the reminder she grimaces a little and leans back with a sigh.]

Speaaaking ooofff, my little buddy, if someone were to do something stupid, would you stop caring about them? Like... Not that you don't care about them, but you can't or it'd mess up your work. Kind of thing.

Well, I always have to do my best to smile for other people. I can't make other people smile if I'm frowning myself!

Liiiike, say... being reckless and almost getting yourself killed for the sake of someone you care about?

That's the opposite of something Misa-Misa would have a problem with. After all, I'd do pretty much anything for Light's sake...

Okay, well, what if it was a problem? Like... Like uh... What if Light thought himself the most important person ever, but wanted to protect you, so he sacrificed himself for your sake? That. Kind of thing. Like with the third motive.

[Where Bruce and Mettaton admitted to volunteering themselves.]

T-that'd be the stupidest thing Misa-Misa ever heard! There's no way she'd let him go through with something like that, even if he was trying to protect me. We're a couple, after all! We do things as a team, together! He wouldn't let me do something ridiculous for his sake [yes he would], so I would never, ever let him put himself in danger for mine.

...But on the other hand, Light can be very stubborn. Once he sets his mind to something, it's hard to make him stop going through with it. ...But if it's something like sacrificing himself, I'd insist that we go down together.

Alright, so, you wouldn't just shut yourself off from everything and everyone because it's what "everyone wants" and what's "best" for you in order to perform. Right?

Huh? I get wanting to be the best performer you could be. But if it comes at the cost of how you really feel yourself...

[ Hm. How to put it... ]

When you're a performer, you have to, y'know, put on a mask for everyone and all, right? But it becomes a problem once you let the mask become your actual face. You can't let your persona take over, you know?

Now, how can I change that? I don't mind if Mettaton acts that way towards other people, but when it comes to the handful he'd actually care about dying... I just don't get how he can just close himself off. It hurts people when he does that.

[Like, she says it in a way that tries to make it sound like she's not hurt, but. Ha.]

Of course it would...especially if you're in a relationship, to cut yourself off from the person you care about just for the sake of not worrying anyone is actually kind of unhealthy. You have to be open and communicate with your partner to make it as successful as it can be. ...That said, that's not going to happen unless you both do it, so maybe you should make sure you're open with him, too. ...Tell him that it hurts you when he puts you at a distance. Even if that's what he thinks you want. Tell him that you're both together, and you're a team. That he can be himself around you, and he should.

Iiiii do not like being in that kind of position. But I tried? A little? When I talked to him after the trial and... during his smashy thing the other day. I don't think he took to it either time.

[Which is obviously disappointing. If she has to feel awkward then so does he??

... But more importantly, Sigrun really does seem kind of hurt by this. It's such a weird feeling for her.]

I said he didn't have to perform in front of me and, well. He didn't really say anything in response to that part.

I know. Love can be very hard, because you're sort of laying yourself bare in front of the other person and you don't know whether or not it'll take. ...Honestly, between you and me, Light and I, we were the same way starting out. It was a little bit more...one-sided. But Misa-Misa, she tried and tried...and it took some time, but, well, our relationship now is a sight for sore eyes!

I'm sure if you keep at it, though, it'll break through that shiny exterior and you'll make a breakthrough! But a person doesn't change for you overnight. Sometimes a person doesn't change for you at all. And that's not always a bad thing. But something like this, you should try and make him open up to you.

Okay, so, you and shrimpy keep saying that word, and I don't know if that's an acceptable word to use. Even if I feel the same way about him the way I do my duty as a troll hunter. What makes it "love" and not just, I don't know, anything else?

I mean, thanks for the advice, I appreciate it and I'll definitely keep hammering at him, but. Yeah.

Tell me how you feel about the way you do your duty as a troll hunter. In detail. Tell me about the way it makes you feel, how excited you get when you're in the heat of battle, the way your heart beats when you're about to go in for the finishing blow.

I look forward to it? Even when it's hard to deal with, there's nothing more satisfying to me than to smash a head in, to have a tale to bring back. When I'm not allowed out for some reason or another I feel like I'm going to die because I want to be out there so badly. I feel a thrill whenever I face a foe larger than me, like I know I might die but I won't, and it's just-- it's pretty hard to explain? I'm out of breath just thinking about it.
