Week 6.

WEEK 6

The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people.

It's been a bad week.

However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 14

[In the grand scheme of things, Colress' situation at home is nothing compared to Cherryblod's. Let's put it that way.]

Yes, everything is fine. I actually discovered that I completed my research. The theme of my research: "Bringing out the power of Pokemon." I...after all this time, I found my answer.

[He says it like it's bittersweet. Obviously, it's the source of everything being up in the air for him right now.]
cherryblooded: (smile / is this flirty I don't know)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-04 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Well, that's a relief. Even if it's bittersweet, it's not... just bitter.]

So now what will you do?
pokexplorer: (❖ sigh)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly. That is going to be the next question I will have to work on answering for the remainder of my time here.

[It's not the worst dilemma in the world to have for certain, but there's an uneasy feeling about suddenly not having an aim in life after having one for so many years.

As he thinks about it though, he considers the previous week's dream he had. Would it be worth bringing up too?

...Hm.]

...Cherryblod. I know this may sound strange, but may I speak with you about the topic of the Kingmaker's claim about our worlds?
cherryblooded: (calm / wait what)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-04 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.

[It's not a thrilling topic of conversation, but he's here for support.]

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-04 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
[With that in mind, Colress leans himself up against one of the counters in the lab as he settles into his explanation for even bringing the topic up. His expression is entirely neutral, as it usually was back in the earlier weeks.]

The reason I bring it up is because in my dream last weekend, there was actually a very real possibility for destruction to befall my world. Strange coincidence, isn't it?

cherryblooded: (smile / oh yes)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-04 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
That is a coincidence. So you think the Kingmaker might be telling the truth?
pokexplorer: (❖ considering)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-04 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
See, that is the problem. My dream this weekend showed me that the destruction was seemingly averted. So...what could this mean?

[It makes it even more confusing now that he knows what could have happened, but the Kingmaker is saying it did happen...?]
cherryblooded: (calm / thinky think)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-04 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
Unrelated causes, maybe? Though your world would be really unlucky to face two threats of destruction in a row.

[At least his isn't destroyed. Just awful.]
pokexplorer: (❖ unsure)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-05 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Ah... [HOW COMFORTING...] I would like to hope that isn't the case.

I simply found it rather interesting if a bit unnerving to actually experience such threats happening in my dreams, after what the Kingmaker claimed. With that last dream, I began to wonder if he knew more about the cause of our worlds' destruction than he was letting on.

That is of course, if his claim is actually true.

[And actually? He still doesn't really believe it.]
cherryblooded: (smile / oh yes)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-05 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
...For me, personally, I can't believe that our worlds are gone until I see proof. It's just not possible for me to give into that.

[Because all that keeps him going is his family, some days.]
pokexplorer: (❖ explanation)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-06 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
That is the strangest part, isn't it? It has been weeks and he hasn't so much as given us a shred of evidence. All of his little incentives have been purely hypothetical, based on whether or not we believe this hollow claim.

If he wants us to believe him so badly, why hasn't he given concrete evidence...?
cherryblooded: (smile / peachy)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-06 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Either he's lying or he can't back it up for some other reason. As simple as that.
pokexplorer: (❖ classic glasses pushing)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-07 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I suppose I am just surprised that he hasn't even bothered to rise the stakes apart from that one incentive...then again, he really hasn't needed to.

[So many of them have been killed anyway.]
cherryblooded: (calm / thinky think)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-07 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
It's worked for him so far. Why bother being creative about it?

[Too many people are dead for too stupid reasons.]
pokexplorer: (❖ glasses off)

[personal profile] pokexplorer 2016-04-08 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed... I truly do hope we can bring an end to this soon. It has become so, so tiring.

[He really should have thought this from the first trial on, but he's...him.

That said, he's not sure if he can take another event like the last one. And that's very strange to admit.]
cherryblooded: (calm / wait what)

[personal profile] cherryblooded 2016-04-08 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Draining, isn't it.

...Well, it won't go on all that much longer, one way or another.

[They'll escape or someone else will pull off a murder. Eventually, their numbers will dwindle down to nothing if this continues.]
