Week 6.

WEEK 6

The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people.

It's been a bad week.

However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 14

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

garudynamic: (Huh?)

[personal profile] garudynamic 2016-04-05 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I have my notebook here too. Though with it's weird... rune-writing I doubt it'll match.
amygdalae: this is really not English (complicated explanation time)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
The fact that we can read it means that it isn't written in the language from the book that Hanamura found. [But what does this mean...] We should check though to see if there's any matches.

[TAKE OUT ALL YOUR STUFF, GUYS.]
garudynamic: (Wince)

[personal profile] garudynamic 2016-04-05 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
[He kinda leans towards Bruce, not whispering but obviously mostly talking to him]

...we should think about having a communal place for all the writing stuff too. In case something ends up... erm... misplaced.

['In case someone dies and we can't get at their room or their hiding places anymore'

But he's not gonna outright say that]

amygdalae: remember that you are human (touch screens are the raddest thing)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
[He may not say it but Bruce quickly gets the idea all the same - it'd be a lie if he said he hadn't thought of it himself, after all.

He gives a nod.]

I'll look into it. [First it means thinking of a good place to keep all of this in the first place. Presumably somewhere the Kingmaker won't think of even though he has bloody cameras all over the place of whatever he uses to survey them.

(Bruce isn't so foolish to think that they aren't being watched, after all.)]
captainobnoxious: (20 boy is that shit broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-05 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
[IT'S JUST A LIST OF FOOD, GUYS........

... in Sigrun's professional opinion, anyway, though she'll move the notebook to a more central position for everyone's convenience.]

Have at it, then. I was kind of thinking we could add things in it and see if they appear the next day.

[None of this investigative stuff.]
amygdalae: (no I turn green not red)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 09:28 am (UTC)(link)
...why would you think writing things in here would make them appear?

[How did you even come to that logic, Sigrun...]
captainobnoxious: (09 mmm!)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-05 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[How does she come to any piece of logic, Bruce.]

Why not? Like, if it's a list of everything in there, like... so he doesn't forget or something. If it's the Kingmaker's grocery list.

[that's how]
amygdalae: (regrets were made.)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sometimes Bruce wonders why he even bothers to try.]

I highly doubt that its a grocery list.

[More like some... checklist, if anything, judging from what he can glance.]
isafraid: (I don't know anymore)

[personal profile] isafraid 2016-04-05 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
[WELL we're doing this then. Good to know.]

I suppose this will help. It's a sight more readable then some of the thing's we've found.

[He produces the locket and that note, setting them on the table. Yes, he's carrying them around in his jacket at all times.

...is there a better place to keep it?
]
amygdalae: dun dun DUUUUN (we're not a team; we're a timebomb)

Mini investigation time!

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
[WELL they will certainly need to think of one soon. Like Yosuke suggested.]

Thank you.

[And now Bruce will compare the handwriting in the locket note to the handwriting in the kitchen notebook. Do they match, or are they both completely different?]
amygdalae: (genius mode)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
They're totally different.

[He sighs and passes the locket note back to Speedwagon for now; once he actually has an idea of what to do with everything they've found then he'll ask Speedwagon for it properly.

He glances over to the rest of the group after that.]

Anybody else have something that we can compare?
goodforsomething: (⛵ surprise the eye is still there for no)

[personal profile] goodforsomething 2016-04-05 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I've got this.

[Stan hands over the Trebuchets for Dummies book, with its inscription in the front.]
penduli: (03 i just can't understand)

[personal profile] penduli 2016-04-05 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ... ]

I... do.

[ Give him a second to look through his notebook and... pull out some music scores. They're by some generic Johann fellow, because that's what all composers are named right, but the important things are the two sentences at the top of the sheet.

They're pretty faint, but they say YOU'RE NOT ALONE HERE and YOU'RE BEING WATCHED.]

Sorry for holding out, they just didn't seem very important.
amygdalae: this is really not English (complicated explanation time)

more investigation here

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-05 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[If Bruce is bothered by it, he doesn't show it; he just nods and takes the music sheets from Black as well as the book that Stan passed over.

...he'll speak after he's done comparing all of these. Between the music notes, the book inscription and the kitchen notebook, do any of them contain the same handwriting?]
amygdalae: I do not remember planes being this hideous (yeah total awkward)

s'cool!

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-08 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[...oh now what do we have here.

Bruce singles out the music and the book, pointing to the writing that's on them.]

These two seem to have been written by the same hand.
captainobnoxious: (20 boy is that shit broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-09 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
... So...

[She's disinclined to say it aloud, seeing as the Kingmaker sees and knows all or whatever, so she'll whisper it instead.]

Does this mean that we have allies we don't know about? That we can't see or something? Because that's pretty cool, if... well, I can't even say I can't believe it at this point. Ghosts?
amygdalae: what do you mean we can't have blueberries (could you say that again)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-09 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Bruce is just giving you the most disbelieving look here, Sigrun.]

...what made you jump to that conclusion.

[Suddenly ghosts what even.]
captainobnoxious: (13 yeah no)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-09 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
What else is invisible, doctor? They very much exist and... "talk" in a way where I'm from, though just to Mages.

[and she knows a ghost it's been on her mind alright]

I mean, they're usually either harmless or pissed off, but still. And can you really ask me that when we've had vampires, mermaids, and gods in our company?
amygdalae: I just choose not to say them (I have a lot of words)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-09 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[...okay, she has a fair point. But still.

Ghosts.

What even.]

It's still a bit of a stretch to assume that; all the supernatural things we had so far more or less come from their own worlds, not this one.

[And this world hasn't really... done anything too supernatural yet to them, so.]
amygdalae: (genius mode)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-09 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[...fair point.]

Besides that. But the bodies there are corporeal, as far as we can tell.
captainobnoxious: (41 bro please)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-09 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Besides that," you say, when a kid exploded without any body parts to show for it. "Besides that," when apparently every new floor might as well be created from thin air, I think it was said? "Besides that," when there's notes that seem to be addressed to us written by the same hand.

[Just sayin', doc.]

Is it the same as the locket's note? Let's go three for three, since my boring book was useless.
amygdalae: I just choose not to say them (I have a lot of words)

more investigation ahoy

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-10 12:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The bodies have always been cleaned up after the trials, so its safe to assume that the Kingmaker is behind those. [How, though, is another question - but at least they know who.] As for the floors, we're still trying to figure that out.

[And the notes are what they're discussing now, so.

He gives a nod to Sigrun's suggestion, then takes the music notes and compares them to the locket note. Is the handwriting there the same?]
