WEEK 6 The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people. It's been a bad week. However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it. [...oh! True! He was cooking something! He had gotten so distracted talking to Cherryblod he had completely forgotten about the stove! So he yelps and gets it off the stove, staring at it with disappointment]

It's ruined! Again! And I was doing so well...

[The ruined vegetables is left with the nearby burned lump. Mouri takes all the recipes Aqua had given him and browses them]

Maybe that was a bit too difficult for a beginner. There must be something I can do without any problems...

[Oh, oops. Cherryblod has the decency to look apologetic about the whole mess.]

Sorry for distracting you. I'm sure you'll get it next time.

It wasn't your fault. I'm not used to cooking. My daughter is...the one who usually cooks back at home.

[He really is starting to feel self-conscious about that]

[Women's work, huh. But that's not really fair in this day and age.

How is she at it?

She is actually good at that, at least better than her mother.

[Tentative smile. Uh, that was not nice]

I have depended too much on her skill to cook. That'll change once I return, although my skills so far are closer to Eri's than Ran's.

There you are. If you've gotten nothing else out of this experience, you've built character.

[Cherryblod realizes that 'building character' is the ultimate parent thing to say, but it's true.]

It's too bad I had to be locked in a shelter and...experience everything that has happened so far to start realizing my flaws.

I'm sure other people here are starting to change for the better, too.

Wouldn't have ever been able to do that without the support of my sons, so - maybe I have, just a little.
