Week 6.

WEEK 6

The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people.

It's been a bad week.

However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not...

Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 14

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week six of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!

The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
amygdalae: you're speaking as if I even have one (you're asking me to make a choice?)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-07 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[NOT WHEN YOU'RE THROWING FLAILS AGAINST DOORS.]

I think you mean the most reckless ideas.

[Still, he isn't here to argue, just as Sigrun said. He turns his attention back to the pinball machines, examining them for a moment more before he finds the button to start the game.]
captainobnoxious: (04 what've we got here)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-07 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[This should be fun to watch. Just how good could a guy like this be at the flashy noise machine?]
amygdalae: you sir are not impressing me (is that all you've got?)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-07 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[As it turns out: pretty damn good, actually. Pinball, after all, is all about angles and trajectory and a lot of maths and physics, and guess who happens to be a physicist?

(Nuclear physicist, sure, but he still needed to know basic stuff like this in the first place.)

With the first ball Bruce doesn't do very well yet - he's still figuring out everything in his head - but after that he gets much better, and soon he's racking up a rather impressive score.]
captainobnoxious: (28 how's it going down there)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-07 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[......................]

Huh. Wow. You're uh. You're really getting up there.

[yeesh.]
amygdalae: what do you mean we can't have blueberries (could you say that again)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-07 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[...honestly Bruce doesn't even realize how long he's been playing it until Sigrun speaks, and it distracts him enough that he loses his ball into the gutter.]

--its not that hard once you figure out when and where to hit the ball. [He glances over to give her a smile before focusing back to the machine, letting out the next ball and gets back to racking up his high score.]
captainobnoxious: (09 mmm!)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-07 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Guess she's studying the physics of pinballs, then. Sigrun leans over a little to watch -- not enough to block his view though -- and tracks the movements with her eyes the best she can, eventually getting used to the different speeds and timing.]

Cats would love this game.
amygdalae: you sir are not impressing me (is that all you've got?)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-07 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Bruce lets out a small sound of amusement at the remark.]

They would be occupied watching, at the very least. I'm not as sure if they'd be any good at it, however.
captainobnoxious: (04 what've we got here)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-07 07:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, cats are pretty amazing. We'd have to get rid of the glass to let them in though and see what their high score would be.

[Let's put kittens in a pinball machine.]
amygdalae: ...nope, still no clue (give me a moment)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-07 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[No, Sigrun, we are not putting cats in any machine.]

I don't think that's a good idea.
amygdalae: since when do we have iArcs? (the outside world is kind of scary)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-08 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It could hurt them.

[And they could probably choke on the balls?? They are pretty small after all.]

And they'd probably ruin the machine.
captainobnoxious: (09 mmm!)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-08 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Cats aren't stupid. I mean, they definitely might ruin the machine, but you can train them not to.

[says the woman whose world has trained cats to hunt trolls out]
amygdalae: look I can point my index finger too (objection)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-08 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure they'd ruin the machine long before being able make them not to do so.
captainobnoxious: (02 i'm the best ofc)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-08 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Not in my capable hands! Give me a week and I'll have them beating your top score in no time.
amygdalae: I wish things could go your way (is that what you think?)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-08 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sigrun please. This isn't a competition...]

...well, when you find a cat around here, let me know.
captainobnoxious: (20 boy is that shit broken)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-08 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Everything is a competition.]

... I'll ask the Kingmaker if he can give me one. I'll give a good reason for it, too, like it'll be fun to watch everyone go crazy over it.
amygdalae: (if I may suggest)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-09 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[Not everything has to be a competition, Sigrun.]

...what would he even consider as a 'good reason'?

[Because so far, Bruce hasn't seen or heard anything that could constitute as one.]
captainobnoxious: (12 matter o' fact kids)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-09 01:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[e v e r y t h i n g]

I'll figure something out. From the sounds of it, we're on better terms than the rest of you are, so maybe he'll agree to it.
amygdalae: I really don't want to go with the hard way (you sir are not making this easy)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-09 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sigrun, no...]

It's hard me to find any common ground with our jailer.

[He's not ashamed to admit that, man.]
captainobnoxious: (59 hohum)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-09 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Hmmm.]

Well, here's one: He's stuck here with us, as far as I know. It's not his world just like it's not ours. I learned that a while back.

[And reported it, too, but you know.]

Why not start there and work your way around? You don't have to be friends or anything, but knowing things about him could be useful in the long run. Like if you want to blackmail him.
amygdalae: (all the stress)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-10 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes, Bruce remembers that - which just frustrates him all the more. All the more reason that they should try to work together to get them all back to their own worlds instead of doing... all of this. It's senseless and cruel.]

I tried once. It didn't... really go well at all.

[Just a lot of frustration overall.]
captainobnoxious: (03 can't be that hard)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-10 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because he's an asshole.

[She knows.]

A real stubborn one too. If you're not prepared to be dealing with "it's not important" this and "it doesn't matter" that, then yeah, it's not going to go well. I can't even say I get answers out of him 100% of the time either.

[Maybe like. 60%? If she's generous with herself.]
amygdalae: (going back to days gone by.)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-11 01:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[60% is already loads better than most of them here, let's be honest. Especially Bruce.]

It's not that which gets me. [It's just... a lot of other things. How he can do this in the first place, how he treats lives with such carelessness and plays with human emotions like its nothing. That he just thinks of them as experiments and its sickening to just even knows that.] He's just... I can never understand how he's able to do any of this and not feel any remorse at all.
captainobnoxious: (60 you get used to it)

[personal profile] captainobnoxious 2016-04-11 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[It is, but the 40% is the part that bugs her when he doesn't answer. They're actually important questions.]

There's usually a reason for that. Either he's that much of an asshole, or... he's seen and experienced things that's made him that way.

[... like losing a dear friend, maybe, but she's not bringing that up this week.]

Doesn't excuse him one bit, of course, he'll have to pay for things like anyone else, but I'm pretty sure he's aware that the rules apply to him too.
amygdalae: soon to be neutral no longer (the bystander)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-04-11 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Seen and experienced things, huh? Bruce can't say he doesn't relate to that... but still. What does one have to see and experience to make anybody do something like this? Its far too structured and long-drawn to just be petty revenge.]

I do hope he's aware. He's not exactly very popular with anybody right now.
