Week 6.

WEEK 6 The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people. It's been a bad week. However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it. [Bruce doesn't remember the lyrics at all either - he just recalls the tune; its been years since he played it, after all.

He continues to play it for another one or two more times when Cherryblod joins in, then stops and just--more or less stares at the keyboard for a moment.]

[Ah, looks like they're done with Ode to Joy for now.]

Moving onto something else, Bruce?

[amygdalae]

[Bruce shakes his head.]

I only know how to play this one tune.

[A musician Bruce Banner is not.]

I see. But you're not doing a bad job at it.

[That's more than he could play when he got here.]

[amygdalae]

It's not a hard melody to remember.

[It just took him a few initial tries to get it come back to him.]

[cherryblooded]

May I give it a try?

[He's not great on the piano, but he does sort of know where the notes are...]

[amygdalae]

Of course.

[Bruce gets out of the chair after he says that, gesturing for Cherryblod to come and take over.]

[cherryblooded]

[Cherryblod has a seat at the piano, then tries to play, based on mimicking what Bruce was doing.

...It... sort of sounds like Ode to Joy. Just, you know, played by someone without any sheet music and minimal piano skill.]

[amygdalae]

That sounds pretty good.

[Hey man, it wasn't as if Bruce was playing it like a pro. He probably played it pretty damn slow himself, too.]

For a beginner, maybe. But thank you.

[amygdalae]

I would hardly call myself an expert when I only know one song.

[cherryblooded]

You can be an expert at that one song.

[amygdalae]

I'm pretty sure this piece is too simple for people to really regard anybody as an expert.

Well, I think you are, so there.

...I'll take the compliment then, I suppose.

Good, good. You're getting better at taking those.

I'm doing my best.

I know it isn't.

[Sorry if it came across as such, Cherryblod. Bruce's apologetic smile says as much.]

That's alright. Just making sure.

[He's just glad Bruce is actually listening to compliments a bit more often.]

[It's a slow but steady process.]

Do you know how to play the piano?

[cherryblooded]

Not well enough to be called 'playing' it, but I know how it works.

[amygdalae]

That's already a step ahead for most people, I think.

[cherryblooded]

There's a tune I've been trying to transpose from the piano to the ukulele, which I can play, but it's not going well.

[amygdalae]

From what I understand usually the translation is not as simple as it seems.
