WEEK 6 The number of Survivors left is dropping at a quick pace; the King got what he wanted, for better or for worse; Tarrlok and Lynne were victims of both fate and some sort of magic that most in the Vault still don't quite understand, and Misa Amane has been executed, not for her particular brand of "justice", but for murdering two innocent people. It's been a bad week. However, Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible sixth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; you've done well. You've earned it. [Speedwagon glances upward from his book before ultimately closing it. No sense in being rude to someone else, is there?]

Not often enough, suppose if I want to learn a bit more about the world, I'll have to start somewhere!

[He flips the book around to show Gabriel the cover; it's definitely a science fiction novel.]

Can't say this helps much.

That looks like science fiction to me.

It's, ah. It's a made up story set in the future.

... [He looks back at the book, then gives a curt nod.]

Course I knew that. Already had that explained to me a few days ago. [Not one of his greatest moments.]

Aren't too many real books in here about the future to go on.

No, there aren't.

It's a little strange, isn't it? Nothin' about the outside world. It's all a bunch of fiction. I recognize some of it-- or, well, it reads almost exactly like stuff I've read back home, just with names and places changed.

Right, that's it! [He nods at Gabriel, taking a moment to set the book down on a nearby table.]

Well I can't say that much of it is reminding me of anything from home. Granted, I haven't read many of the classics myself. But I suppose that's all the Kingmaker's doing. On purpose and all.

The Kingmaker seems like he was pretty careful about what books he has here. Nothing that would give any clues about where we are.

And it's not like he'd tell us. "It's not important", he'd say.

Even more then that... I asked him once about what time it was, and you know what he said? "It's not bloody important!"

[He shrugs as he moves towards another table. A few books were stacked there.]

Thought I'd just ask about the weather at least.

[That... actually makes Gabriel laugh.]

Seems like Sigrun is the only one who's been able to get anything from him.

Right... and even then, sounds a bit like that relationship of their's isn't about to last.

[He shrugs a little aimlessly.]

I wouldn't want to get between her and whoever catches her ire.

No, probably not.

The Kingmaker is going to get pissed off eventually. Probably over nothing.

A shame though... bloke said he wanted to save us.

Seems like he doesn't want to let us know where we are though. Haven't found a single book on 'this' place yet.

That means we could be anywhere, doesn't it?

Literally anywhere, what with the reality of multiple worlds out there.

[He lets out a light grunt.]

Can't say I like the sound of that, considering the headache it gives me.
