do it for love
[ Every week is the same song and dance, but it never really gets easier, or works, or ever seems like it’s going to stop.
There will be time for everyone to rest before Black comes knocking on their doors (a moot point, given the soundproofedness of them) and slipping a note beneath them. He needed the respite too, and they needed to prepare food, and… he still thinks it’s a little weird to have a party after a trial, but he’s starting to really understand why it’s not a bad idea, either. ]
[Name],
Misa would’ve wanted us to keep a smile on our faces, or at least put a smile somewhere. There’s a pancake bar up in the chapel, if you’d like to come by and make a few happen. If you don't want to come, that's fine, too. The offer's open all night.
Ever yours,
Black
[ …the ending is something he’s never quite shaken, unfortunately.
Those that make their way up to the chapel will, indeed, find a pancake bar, courtesy of Yosuke and Stan (because Black never feels that hungry after trials and someone needs to stress bake here). That is, there are pancakes! There are syrups, whipped cream, fruits, berries, candies, etc! Sprinkles! Hot chocolate, ice cream… everything you could want for your build-your-own-pancake masterpiece. It’s all set up on some tables shoved against the chapel’s walls.
…special Stancakes (or pancakes with a hint of Stan in them, aka some of his hair that might’ve gotten in there accidentally, whoops) are also available.
There’s also alcohol—dessert wines mostly, to pair with their overwhelming sugar bias, but there’s some ordinary stuff there too. Pancake bar.
The framed photos are where they’ve always been on the center area, along with their matching stuffed animals. …or most of them; some haven’t been made, some pictures haven’t been put up, you get the idea. ]

(She also finds the fourteen biggest cups she can and takes them up in a big box.)
And when she arrives, she can be found very meticulously whipping up mugs of hot chocolate--with cinnamon in the drink itself, a big pile of whipped cream. The last touch is a considerable drizzle of chocolate.
When she's done, she makes sure everyone gets a mug of their own. Aqua does eventually grab some pancakes; it's just... making Misa-Misa's Special Hot Chocolate was the most important thing to her.
She's pretty quiet, considering... but she'll talk to anyone who comes over to her. ]

So he does, even if he'll be keeping to himself for the most part. He has what looks to be a large glass of some version of Moscatel wine (not in a wine glass, mind, who has time for that) alongside a hot chocolate from Aqua set in front of him, along with a small stack of pancakes. It's got whipped cream pigtails, green eyes courtesy of some of those awesome candies, and a big chocolate chip smile.
...Misa makes him miss his sister more than usual.
He's also hard at work at something in his notebook from earlier: generally reserved for, well, notes, it's also recently become the site of his Ophelia work he'd been doing for Misa. ...and will continue doing for her. He promised he'd perform it after all, when he was through with it.
Otherwise—yes, when he isn't being his usual quiet wallflower self, he'll be around the party. ]

...and Bruce hopes they never have a reason to go back down there, but its hard to keep that idea up.
Before he really goes into the gathering though Bruce takes a moment to linger at the King's portrait, a hand resting at the side of the frame as he stares at it for a minute or two before he does eventually move on.
At the party itself Bruce is doing his best to go around and check on people - he won't push if they're not up for conversation, but if they need company then he'll do his best to provide, as far as he's able.]

From the investigation to Misa's reveal to the execution itself (seriously what was going on in that execution, he doesn't understand)...Colress realized that he hasn't been feeling like himself. He shouldn't be this affected, he should have been able to stay neutral and deal with it as he always did, but since the previous trial, he's noticed a slight slip. It is obviously bigger slip now.
All that said, Colress can be found further back from the main crowd, sitting on one of the benches in contemplation. He's got a drink in one hand and Klinklang's Pokeball in the other, which he is staring blankly at as he shifts it around in his hand.
He's not equipped for delivering news like this.]

He isn't sure how long he stays like that; it doesn't matter, really, and it's not like he'll be punished for it – he's worn-out but he doesn't sleep, after all.
He just needs a while to reset.
Admittedly, any mental reset he's been doing nearly goes straight out the window when he does go to join the rest, because of whatever the actual hell Cherryblod thinks he's doing; that's getting solidly ignored, because he's not in the mood to deal with it and perhaps more to the point he can't promise he won't just slap the guy for it, so he's just. Going to be disregarding the...all of that and instead he'll just kind of loiter in the chapel and watch everyone for a while, and he'll make sure that he's not needed for anything before. Well. Probably going back upstairs, honestly.
Again, it's not like he needs sleep.]

For the first bit of the meeting he'll be in the kitchen cooking, but other than that, he's in the chapel.
He goes around the room, handing out small bowls of vegetarian jambalaya to anyone who looks particularly crushed, and kneels down to... well, attempt to pray in front of the memorial. Or at least quietly contemplate-- he's never exactly been a religious man.]
no subject
There's a lot he's been thinking about since the trial, seems like that's the only thing he can do by this point. He's fine to move around the party for a little while, happy to chat with whoever comes up to him as he's trying one of those Stancakes.
...The afterparty stretches on, and Speedwagon eventually drifts into the hallway beyond the chapel. He's pacing slowly, stopping just to lean against one of the walls; it's only briefly, but he also reaches into his coat to pull out something and look at it.
A shame that fresh air doesn't exist in this place, he could use some of it.]
