WEEK 4.

WEEK 4 Three more have died this past week. Milla Maxwell was killed for breaking a rule, Chiyuki was murdered, and you all had a hand in executing Yoshikage Kira. It seems like this isn't going to stop any time soon. How many more will join them this week? Saturday is given to regrouping and rest; on Sunday morning the clock chimes as it always has, but at least there are no bodies to find today. It seems you're safe for now. The night before wasn't necessarily a peaceful one, however; you'll probably feel a bit groggy when you wake up, and it seems you've regained something that you didn't realize you'd lost... Despite the Wordsmith's reaction to the last trial, it seems as though you've been rewarded once again for a job that was...well, it was done, even if he didn't explicitly say it was well-done. Another door has opened in that stairway, it seems, leading you further down into the building; once again, there are more rooms down there, more things to occupy yourselves with. Or perhaps just more means to get creative with regards to how you take initiative with your fellow Apprentices. APPRENTICES REMAINING: 23 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 22 APPRENTICES REMAINING: 20

They came in those red and white balls, didn't they? Mugetsu wasn't in one.

That's when the most recent picture on my cell phone was taken.

[ He holds up the phone so Mikazuki can see. Said picture seems to have been taken in a locker room, and the subject is a Japanese man wearing this outfit (Viktor is wearing the same costume but it's pink instead of blue). He appears to have just finished putting the gloves on and looks a little annoyed to have his picture taken. ]

It's something that's hard to process. I hurt her, yet she called me kind and compassionate and told me to never lose those qualities.

[And those words keep ringing in her head.]

I would have let those memories get to me if it weren't for making friends here, friends like you. I fear for your lives, but it's because you're here that I find the will to keep fighting.

[Jasper watches Gangrel for a long moment before she steps inside.]

Was he just freely in the machine, then? How... how did he manage?

Yeah, I figured that kinda might be the case. I mean, heck, if I didn't have to breathe, I'd probably do that, too... but you know. Lungs.

Yeah, it was so weird! I was putting in these coins to see if anything good would come out-

[He indicates to all the junk on the floor.]

-And then he came flying out at top-speed!

[Upon looking at it, it seems that one of them has less depth to it than the others - it's even with the other shelves in terms of how far out of the cabinet it's coming, but it seems to hit the back of the case before they do if you reach back. Like the shelf itself is shorter, or maybe like there's something going on with the back of the cabinet that isn't there on the other shelves.]

[Are you looking for something in particular, or are you just paging through? What are you trying to find - something in the books, something with the shelves...?]

[Everything seems normal in that regard!]

It's a synonym for 'denial', apparently.

[Still, he holds his hand out, so that Mugetsu can crawl on up and go sniff at Guzma.]

Be careful. If you piss him off, he'll bite you.

[Well. Weavile doesn't look like he can swim as well as Silver, but it's not like Jasper can tell at all; she's completely clueless about hobbies like this.]

[ Something within the books; maybe something like information left behind about the Academy (can he be that lucky). So, that would wind up with him paging through a book or two first. ]

I suppose he's overdue for some of my cooking. Are you two hungry too?

[He means Silver and Weavile when he asks there.]

A little bit, yeah. Not like I'm planning on spending too much time in here, anyway.

[He shrugs.]

I was just seeing what was in here, it smells like chlorine? I've got no idea why it smells like chlorine in here, it was weirding me out.

And then you got my attention, and here we are.

[One more thing before we start: what sort of science fiction are you looking at? There are a lot of things that covers; are we talking space travel, time travel, robots, AI, what sort of thing are we looking at...?]

[ He'd probably first look at time travel, since that is something he'd be interested in (and the other things rank secondary). ]

[...You know, he isn't sure why he expected anything else, but here he is anyway and god, Sportacus looks like he's having a good day today.

Kimbley's still looking a little rough and vaguely dead behind the eyes, but he figured that he should at least check out the lower floor and...well, here he is, seeing whatever this guy is doing in here and generally just leaning against the wall like he's got no intention of joining but every intention of watching for a while.]

[Jasper watches Killia for a long while before she approaches him,nodding in appreciation at the various technique he uses.]

This is just the room a number of us needed.

Well... I know people were talking about not being able to use powers they have back home, so that might be what's going on here? I don't have any special superpowers, but like... Pokemon can. I know Silver was talking about his Weavile not being able to use any moves, too.

I just hope the Wordsmith didn't do something permanent to 'em.

[He punches the punching bag again for good measure.]

There isn't anything odd about the books themselves, but as you're paging through them maybe something will catch your attention in the margins - namely, it looks like there are notes written on some of them.]

[ That kind of confuses him, but he can at least tell she means well by her smile.]

...I still don't want you to get hurt.

[ As he's looking through and indeed his eyes catch the section where notes have been written, he takes a pause in his page flipping to try to examine these notes closer. ]

I'll protect myself, Killia. You don't need to burden yourself by thinking you have to protect me, if that's what you're thinking. Back home, I know how to use a sword. Here, I'm learning how to use a gun. [Two guns... thanks Wordsmith...]

I'm going to fight because I want to. Because I want to live. And to do that, I need more than a false bravado to protect me and I'm doing that by training and adapting. I'm not going to be a burden to you. I refuse to let that happen.
