Week 4.
And as the third week in the Vault comes to a close and the fourth week begins, the Survivors are once again down by two. Mion Sonozaki died on her own terms, and Yato died fulfilling his duty as God of Fortune in the best way that he knew how; the shrine built in the game room on Saturday stands in their memory. Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. But that doesn't mean the night was uneventful - it seems something else may have brought you some newfound clarity. Or perhaps not... Once again, that spiral staircase leads farther than you remember, clear up to a previously inaccessible fourth floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; even if the Kingmaker sounded a bit unhappy with you last weekend, the fact remains that you're still doing what you seem to have been brought here to do. SURVIVORS REMAINING: 20 |
SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to week two of Trustfell! Save your threads for coins and the coming week's activity check; don't forget to check in to this week's activity check and submit your memory regains!
The text and calling posts are still active, for the sake of contacting the jerk who's keeping you here, to be used at your leisure!]
Re: THURSDAY
Which is now why it may come quite as a nasty surprise to find Mouri so...dispirited.
During the whole Wednesday he stayed in his room, only going out to eat and ignoring everyone. Anyone who paid attention for a moment may have noticed it seemed like Mouri was mulling something highly unpleasant, but he ignored all attempts for conversation, just going back to his room.
And now today, Thursday, he is in the bar, drowning his sorrows with booze. There's just no trace of any joy in him or his usual steadfast strength right now. So! Mouri is drunk, dispirited, pretty frustrated for reasons not related to the Vault's events, and overall he is taking quite some huge hits to his pride and ego.
He won't go away if anyone approaches, but he is also going to do his best to ignore anyone unless there's a direct conversation]
Bar
Alternately, he can also keep an eye on the older folks who might be risking an explosion of their own. He takes a seat next to Mouri.]
You look like hell.
Re: Bar
[Shrug]
Besides, hell is what is going to await me once I return to my world, if it hasn't been destroyed. Who cares.

[Beat]
So what's the problem? You seem kinda young to be talkin' about the futility of life.

...Pines-san, what would you do if you suddenly find out you have been dragged into what may be the biggest lie of the detective world in the recent times?
[That is...a bit of a stretch but Mouri is not mistaken that it would be a big deal if it all gets unveiled]
That all your fame and everything that you have done in the last two years was actually the work of somebody else, somehow using you as no more than a puppet?
That all the infamy and the blame will fall on you, all because the truth is so stupidly ridiculous nobody would believe for a moment that is what was actually going on?

And then yesterday the detective was nowhere to be found. So when Yosuke spots him in the bar he goes right for him, frowning in worry]
Mouri-san...? Can I talk to you for a second?
no subject
Still, it's Yosuke and the least he can do is at least pay attention]
What is it?
no subject
[Yosuke Hanamura, master of tact. But it's true- Mouri looks miserable.]
Sorry this took so long... this week's been hard. But I wanted to say thanks.
no subject
Thanks for what?
[Yeah, Mouri is not really wanting to string a lot of words right now, apparently. Too busy locking himself in his own self-pity]

[He doesn't think it's as much of a concern with a grown man as it was with Yosuke, but it's still a worry.
Don't mind if he takes a seat at the bar as well.]

[Depressed, sure, but he isn't so broken he wants to lie down and die]
no subject
[In case anyone could forget that.]
So what's on your mind?
no subject
[Yeah, a dramatic groan. Behold! He is wallowing in self-pity]
A lot of things, none of them good.
...Cherryblod-san, what is one supposed to do when everything they have known and done for the last two years was all a lie? That's what I'm trying to answer for myself.

Having a rough day, sweetheart...?

[Oh, it's you, Mettaton. Somehow, talking to a robot who doesn't seem to know how emotions are supposed to work doesn't sound like fun times to him.
Still, Mouri doesn't tell Mettaton to go away]
I received some...bad news from home.
[So to say]
no subject
[There are worse things you could be doing, at least.
...Granted, it's hard to think of what, precisely, but it's. The thought that counts. Maybe.
For what it's worth, though, that actually seems to quiet him down from the usual.]
...Do you know that it's true, or is it just a really bad implication?
no subject
I feel pretty stupid for not realizing something that is obvious in hindsight.

[...that sounds a bit odd out of nowhere, but the conversation he had with Stan is coming back to mind...]
I completely understand, by the way, and am entirely nonjudgmental. I just don't want to take any chances after what happened Monday.

[Somehow Tarrlok giving what should have been interpreted as a good-natured warning seemed annoying to Mouri. Sorry, man, it's just that he is not in good mood when you got here]
no subject
[...it's a Thursday, after all. and everyone's probably at least a little on edge.]
no subject
[Mouri takes a nearby bottle, sliding it towards Tarrlok in case he wants. To be frank he doesn't know much about this man, so he doesn't really tell the real reason he's drinking so much, so he tries to think of an excuse]
I'm stressed. Something could happen tonight, it already did three weeks in a row. It doesn't matter what anyone tries, it's as if it is fated for somebody to die tonight.
[Good excuse, in his opinion]

I'll just continue until I don't feel like locking myself in my room for the rest of my life.
