Final Investigation.
| You've all done very well to make it this far, but it's not over yet. The klaxons blare out today, as they always do – there's no reason they should do any differently, not least of which because it's a Thursday; strange things usually don't happen around here until Fridays, and there's no reason to think that today will be any different. But as soon as you awaken and get a glimpse of what's happening down that first-floor corridor, it becomes very apparent that that's far from the case. The usual rooms on the eastern wing of the first floor are gone entirely, replaced by more of that glossy black that coats the courtroom; it's a little vertigo-inspiring at first, but it's not dangerous. Of more interest, then, is probably those three rooms that seem to be waiting for you – one to the north, two to the south. Choose where you're going to go. Look around for a while. What else are you going to do, after all? >Explore? |
[OOC: Welcome to the final investigation! The areas blocked off in rooms 2 and 3 will require card keys to open; otherwise, you are free to investigate at your leisure!
Remember, we need 15 comments total from each of you on this log somewhere!]

Seeing as the bigger room on the left's being taken by Cherry and his team, Sigrun moves cautiously to the first on the right, peering in with a hand held to stop her boys. Just in case.]

However, the northern wall of the room is dominated by a large screen - it's set into the wall, so there's no pulling it out or off - and beneath it are what looks like a pair of similarly-set speakers of some sort.
On the far wall, opposite the screen, there's a closed door.
What are we doing here?]
no subject
... This whole thing is weird, but this is weirder than weird.]
Mouri, look around the way you did in the conference room. Speedy, go check out that door.
[She'll uh. She'll stare at the screen, knocking it slightly with her hand. Wakey wakey?]
Investigation Start
[This looks pretty similar to the conference room in some ways. It shouldn't be too hard to find some sort of clue. That is why his first action is to do the same thing that got him the keycards:
Check under the table]

The only other action is try to see if there are any objects left anywhere around the table or on the chairs, but he can't say he has hopes of finding anything important. The screen seems to be what matters in this place, after all, and Sigrun is already dealing with it]
no subject
Psst, Captain
Nothing was left, but I think if nobody had been here for some time the chairs would have been more orderly.

[-- HOLY SHIT OKAY WELL, SHE'LL BE A LITTLE BUSY NOW, GET BACK TO YOU IN A BIT BUDDY.]

...You might want to go help Speedwagon, he's currently facing down tech and he's understandably terrified.]

... So it's pretty set into the wall, too, and that's obviously enough by looking; Sigrun'll still feel the borders of the screen for anything she can press, and if there's nothing there she'll take a look at the speakers for the same kind of thing.]

[Seriously, what the hell is this for?
... Oh, wait, Speedwagon found something, that's exciting.]
no subject
Now that she's speaking in closer proximity, the screen will turn on - it's in that vague, ambient sort of way at first, the dull blue of it shining out into the room to imply idle processes starting to come back to life, before a set of white words suddenly appears on the screen. Quickly, but one at a time, as though they're being typed.]
HELLO, SIGRUN EIDE.
no subject
HOLY SHIT
OH???
YOU'RE LUCKY SHE DIDN'T JUST PUT HER SWORD THROUGH THE GODDAMN SCREEN.]
... Hello, mysterious words. Do you have a name?

Investigation start!!
They'll get out of here, just have to have courage is all.
Another closed door stood before Speedwagon quickly enough. Not very interesting in the face of it, but that's why he's going to open it. Very slowly. Carefully.]
no subject
There's a device next to the door, though. Looks like it takes a card key.]
no subject
Speedwagon doesn't recognize the device next to the door, but he can tell it's important. Promptly he calls over his shoulder.]
Doors locked! Seems we need some kind of key for it.
no subject
[Have the red card keys he had found in the conference room time ago]
no subject
well, he's never done this before. Whoever decided to let him do these things must be kicking themselves right now, huh.
Sill. It's only a weird device, or something. He can do this... right? It's just a simple matter of doing something with the key cards.
...He sticks a card in the device. Just shoves it right in there.]
no subject
...
You know what, sure. Nobody allow this man to operate an ATM ever because he'll ensure your card is stuck in there forever, but for the time being that works.
The lock will audibly click open! Success, you have conquered the modern card key machine.]
