Week 3.

WEEK 3

Another week has passed; two more Survivors are gone. Pearl and Caren both had someone to fight for, someone worth killing for; perhaps it's for the best to hope that somehow they've found peace despite not being able to collect on the Kingmaker's incentive.

Saturday is given to regrouping and sleep; there aren't any bodies to be found on Sunday morning. That doesn't mean the night passed easily, though - it seems another piece of your personal puzzle may have fallen into place while you slept...

Following that spiral staircase up to the second floor will reveal something strange; those stairs definitely lead far higher than you remember, up to a previously inaccessible third floor. Go ahead and explore as much as you like; consider it your reward for a job well done.

SURVIVORS REMAINING: 23

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[He wouldn't have expected Sigrun to do something like this. He listens for a long while.]

You've got quite a talent, Sigrun.

[AGGRESSIVELY RAISES PINKY]

Why would anyone...
notjustawriter: (♟ in the desert you can)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-15 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Right.

This place can only be so big. It'd be too expensive to make this into an entire damn city or somethin'. I'm just not sure where to start.
amygdalae: what do you mean we can't have blueberries (could you say that again)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-15 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll work with whatever we have - just as we've been doing. When we've got a more solid foundation, the other things will eventually fall into place.

Maybe we should start lookin' around some of the rooms that have just opened up.

Doubt there's anything in here, but the rooms with a lot of storage are probably a good start.

I've never really played before! Misa-Misa has been sort of teaching herself...I've never done it even on the computer.

But it's really tricky! Sometimes it's hard to find space...

Much nicer, actually!

[...At least he genuinely doesn't seem to mind.]
amygdalae: Loki plans to go to New York (just so you know)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-15 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. They had to be placed there in the first place.

[It's not much, but maybe... they'll only know if they try.]

Sounds like a pain in the butt...you'd be surprised how few cars are on the streets in Tokyo. Public transport is a big deal there!
notjustawriter: (♙ but tell me how can you)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-15 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
A lot of it's the luck of the draw, really.

You can't win every game, but it's relaxing.

I wish it was a little more so...right now, Misa-Misa is just confused.

[ She's bad with numbers.. ]

Misa-Misa is waaay better at crosswords...

It depends on if the former tenants here actually left something, but this place seems a little too big to clear up completely.

I'm still wonderin' how it was retrofitted for us.

Hmm, let's see here.

[He glances over at the cards for a moment.]

Oh! Look at that, the Jack of spades. You can put it here.

Having more help on patrol would really make things easier. I don't know how easy it would be to enforce a curfew though. What would we do if we found someone breaking it?

[It's not like they can lock them up. It's not even a bad enough offense for locking up.]

Oh, oh! That means I can put my red 10 stack over there! You're good at this!

After this game is over, we should play Spit! Have you ever tried? I think you would like it!

I'm thinking the first level at least had to be specifically made - or at least altered in some fashion.

[After all there's really no reason why there should be two laundry rooms...]

[Pinky...also Colress looks very unimpressed by the face off proposal.]

While physical strength and fighting prowess is indeed a good skill to have, it is hardly the defining feature of usefulness and worth in this setting. And honestly, I imagine the results would be rather skewed by default.

[That's all totally what a nerd would say. Even still, there was a bit of bite underneath his words. Maybe he's more affected by this than he wants to let on.]
amygdalae: (work work work)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-15 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think we should enforce any punishment - I suppose its more of a safeguard than anything, to keep each other more easily informed.
notjustawriter: (♟ i was looking at a river bed)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-15 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
And exactly 27 rooms, too.

Unless there was another group in here with specifically that many people it seems suspicious. Like someone was expecting us.
notjustawriter: (♞ i went to find the truth)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-15 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think I've ever heard of Spit, no. How do you play it?
amygdalae: I just choose not to say them (I have a lot of words)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-15 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Or that they knew we would be here, somehow.

[For some unknown reason...

Not knowing anything is so frustrating.]
notjustawriter: (♞ i went to find the truth)

[personal profile] notjustawriter 2016-03-15 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
The whole "your worlds have been destroyed" thing is clearly just a lie, but what if here was some reason they needed exactly that many people?

It's such a specific number.

[The incentive this week seems to have put Colress a little on edge compared to last week's, as he's a bit more subdued than usual as he goes about his business.

Once the discussion in the dining hall comes to an end, he exits in a bit of a hurry and heads to room 20, his room, for a while. He keeps the door closed, but he'll answer if anyone needs him for something.

In the late afternoon, he can be found out and about in the second laundry room, where he's writing down a detailed inventory of every chemical that can be found in the storage room and just...trying to get his mind off of what happened earlier in the day. He writes out a copy for personal reference, and tapes the original near Mettaton's super glittery sign-out sheet.

Colress spends the rest of his evening in the dining hall with a cup of coffee and two of the Showa Radios that Caren gave him the previous week. He's taken one of them apart entirely with a toolkit, and is inspecting the pieces with great curiosity as he goes about reassembling it with the complete one as reference. It's something cathartic for him to do, really.]

amygdalae: I do not remember planes being this hideous (yeah total awkward)

[personal profile] amygdalae 2016-03-15 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I certainly wouldn't discount that possibility.

[Still at this point everything is still up in the air, which continues to be frustrating as heck.]
notjustawriter: (♟ and the ground was dry)

....I guess all we can do is keep an eye out, huh?

I'll look around, see if I can find anything useful, and let you know.
