Induction.
| There's a good amount of confusion, and rightfully so. After all, aside from the rules in purple listed on the wall, there isn't much to explain how you got here or why you're here. Don't worry though. It seems like you won't be left to your own devices for very long. There's a brief moment of static - not loud enough to be particularly grating, but enough to let you know that something's about to happen - before a voice addresses all of you from somewhere unseen. "Hello. I hope you all slept well. I was a bit worried after..." It sounds like it's coming from somewhere above you. There doesn't appear to be anything it's coming from, however. There's a brief pause before the voice resumes speaking. "I'm sure you all have a lot of questions for me. I don't mind answering them. Before you ask anything, I'd like you to examine the rules again. They're posted in every room." The voice is masculine, but there isn't anything to note about it otherwise. "I am the Kingmaker. Welcome to the Vault." |
[OOC: You can be heard just fine through the PA system, so feel free to ask any questions your little heart desires; brackets are fine, you don't need to use prose!]

So you're some kind of genius that's put this all together and decided to make one of us royalty, huh?
[Listening to other people's questions works out well, but she's got one of her own.]
That aside, how is it that you did all this, know so much about us, and thought we'd be okay with knowing everyone we cared about was gone?
[For her, that's a sizable amount of people -- her mom, her dad, every brother and sister in arm, the people she'd sworn to protect from the Illness -- and judging from the catch of characters they'd got here it's just the same.]
That's not the one I want answered though. [Though she's seemed easy-going to the people she's talked to, there's a keenness to her that speaks a loud difference.]
I understand taking responsibility more than anyone. Death is an occupational hazard for any of my comrades and I. [It's sad. It's something you grow used to seeing and experiencing.] But why does our surviving group include an overdressed turkey and a good looking tinman?
['Cause lbr Sigrun knows she's good enough to be picked, she's top of the line here, but really. Everyone else is asking the questions she'd want answered anyway let's get this one out of the way.]

[Sorry, your highness.]
... I don't have a huge issue with them, they're just not fit to be soldiers. [Not everyone is. She's crossing her arms now, not even wincing at the pain centering on her left forearm.] The pink guy's fine until you hit the tail, but all that aside...
If we're surviving here, what are we surviving for? This "exercise" sounds like the kind of thing we'd do to train against the monsters in the Silent Lands -- single a few out, mark them as targets, and then "kill" them. Though your drill sounds a little more real than that and has the reward of leaving onto whatever sort of barren land's out there. Are we being trained, or are we being played?
[Honestly, as much as she picked on even those odd guys, she's starting to see these people as ones she needs to protect. Seeing as she has the experience and knows she can.]

Yes, The King thinks it is okay if he is simply "a royal bird". [ SO WHY WERE YOU CRYING??? ]

You're not wrong there, I guess. Quails are pretty popular food-wise. [ black no.... ] It looks like we've got anything we'd ever want in the kitchen though, so we probably wouldn't have to eat Consc... er, The King.
