Take Responsibility.
| And once the allotted time for investigating comes to a close, those elevator doors slide open at the end of the first-floor corridor, offering another of those fast, smooth rides down to that black void of a courtroom Twelve out of the original twenty-seven are dead; there are four less of you present for this trial than there were last week. That's incredibly obvious as soon as the doors slide open and the podium circle comes into view where it's encircling that dark pit in the center of the room; Norman, the King, Tarrlok, and Lynne have joined the deceased, photographs in greyscale watching the proceedings from their podiums draped in black. Of course and as always, the Kingmaker is watching too; he waits until everyone is settled at their podiums to begin speaking, though it's still impossible to tell exactly where his voice is coming from. "Assured and Perceiving have been taken from you. You guys are really getting excited, aren't you? Two people dead in one night... Whether the guilty party succeeds or not, though, is up to the rest of you." Fifteen Survivors remain. However many will be down by the end of the day is up to you. |

[Hello, yes, Bruce is here and ready to give his report like a good doctor.]
I'll be listing everything I've found on the first victim that we discovered. Detective Mouri and Mr. Colress have their own things too, so I'll let them talk about it after me.
[It's kind of terrible how used they are to this by now. It's not easy, but they're... used to it.
...he'll think about that later.]
The cause of death is, in all likelihood, his broken neck. The damage done there was fatal, and there are also no other signs of injury on his body aside from bruising that seems consistent with a fall down from the stairs. The blood on him is already dry by the time of the examination, which means that the incident had taken place a good while ago.
In addition, I also found this [Holds up a small ziploc bag of glitter for everyone to see] on his body. It was pretty much everywhere on him, as far as I can tell - the glitter in here is from after I got it off my hands.

I will provide some information about the scene of the body.
As you all saw, there was very little blood at the scene, but there were still some items out of place for the location. I discovered several bottles of chemicals from the laundry storage room both near the body and on the stairs. They were all sitting upright and still had liquid inside. As for their intended purpose for being there, I cannot say. It seems as though they had not been put to use.
Stranger still, just like Mr. Banner discovered on Tarrlok's body, there was glitter attached to a few of bottles, as discovered when I picked them up to examine them.

She was found in the men's sauna. it didn't look like it had been used and she was still fully dressed. I'm guessing she was face down and you guys moved her, right?
[He showed up late okay, let him be]
Anyways, there was no signs of a struggle. No bruises or any way to tell what killed her for sure. But she did have slight chemical burns on her face. They looked like something was poured down her face- most of it was centered around her mouth. Sigrun checked her mouth and I checked her nostrils. It doesn't look like she drank or inhaled any thing that would have burned her.
There was also an empty bottle of bleach. Which I'm guessing caused the burns. Plus there was water all over the floor- it hadn't evaporated yet.

I investigated the scene of Tarrlok's murder and...the conclusion I got to is that the body was moved. It was laid too neatly for it to have fallen down the stairs. It is possible he was killed somewhere else.

I think someone mentioned the idea already but what if Lynne stumbled on the body early?. That would explain why the body is laid out so nice. Like she was examining them. Also why her body was hidden so sloppily- the killer might have had to improvise in a hurry.

...it is possible the culprit panicked and killed Lynne-san in an attempt to cover their tracks.
We also can't forget the burned remains found in the incinerator, if the note said Tarrlok-san had suffered an accident - which may be true, his death could have been an accident - and Lynne-san went to investigate...
[In other words, he still suspects of Misa, as much as he dislikes that train of thought]

[ She looks reluctant to admit to this much, but, it seems like she doesn't have much of a choice. The tears are already streaming down her face right now from yelling at Cherry, but, she has to defend herself... ]
Misa-Misa...last night, in the laundry room after the party, she used the bleach. She got some frosting on her pretty dress that she worked so hard to sew, so she wanted to clean it...so when she touched the bottles, that must have been when the glitter got on there...after all, she touched a couple of things in there! But she didn't use the sign-out sheet...
[ Because, well, who the hell uses the sign-out sheet? ]
So when Mister Tarrlok grabbed the bottles, that must have been when he got glitter on him! But Misa-Misa, she didn't do anything like push him down the stairs or anything, Misa-Misa swears! Or move him! If she did, there'd be glitter handprints on his back or something! Misa-Misa didn't shove him, really, she didn't! I'm definitely not strong enough to push him myself! Sigrun knows, I'm not strong at all!
A-and another thing! Misa-Misa...she knows what the note in the incinerator said, too! S-she realized it when Mouri was talking about it! It was my crossword! The one from Tuesday!
[ And at that, Misa...pulls out a black notebook. There's a piece of paper sticking out of the back, and when she pulls it out, she shows it to the others and passes it around. It's her crossword, one of her own, filled out with all the answers, but what she really wants to bring everyone's attention to are the questions...
Obviously, the handwriting between the scrap and the crossword is a match. They were both written by the same person, after all. ]
Look, look! Across 8, it says Tarrlok! And down 6, it says accident! Misa-Misa wrote this herself, in her own handwriting! So the killer must be someone who didn't hand Misa-Misa a finished crossword that she gave! They probably wrote their own plans or notes or whatever on the back! And that way, if anyone found the note in the incinerator, they'd think it was Misa-Misa! S-so there! Now I'm not as suspicious anymore! Right? Right?! Misa-Misa...she's sorry she kept that from you all, about the bottles, but...Misa-Misa isn't a murderer! And there's still no way you can prove what happened to either of them if you assume I'm the culprit!
I couldn't have pushed Tarrlok, there's no way I could have killed Lynne without touching her, it's just impossible for me alone! So...so please, please believe me! Misa-Misa's innocent, she's innocent..! Please don't think I'm a murderer!
[She holds the back of black notebook up to her face and starts crying into the back of it, bawling her eyes out. She didn't want it to end like this, but, when she thinks about everything...it's finally all starting to come out.
As for the notebook itself, the silver letters on the cover are a bit hard to decipher, but, if you can make sense of them...it says ARVC-5.
Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy Type 5.
In other words, a gene that causes heart attacks.]

Re: SELECTION.
ACCOUNTABILITY.
As before, there were no screams; there were no shocked noises or cries, or sounds of a struggle. She was there, and then she wasn't, but eventually the wall beneath podium 6 opens up and Misa steps out, her dark clothes stark in the bright white light of the pit.
Her steps are tentative and hesitant, her head bowed; she's clutching that notebook tightly to her chest as she walks, though there's a tight determination to her shoulders, too, as she walks into the center of the floor.
She doesn't try to run, and she doesn't look skittish despite the hesitance in her motions; she doesn't want to be here, but she doesn't want to run, either.
She just waits, and she stares, and she tries not to shake or let her lip tremble. Brave face, brave face...
The wall under podium 18 has no sooner opened than a bolt of tension immediately shoots through her body, her limbs trembling and looking like they're barely supporting her all of a sudden; when Tarrlok steps out he has his hand extended toward her, the look on his face tight and focused, traces of a smirk present across his features. A few practiced moves of his hands and Misa turns around, the fear in her expression and tight shaking in her limbs giving every indication that she's fighting internally with herself, and the motion is slow and deliberate as she does a complete about-face and kneels down on the ground, that notebook still held tightly in her arms and her head held high, her neck and spine almost unnaturally straight.
Then that door beneath podium 14 opens, and Lynne walks out. Her pace is the usual brisk, easy motion that she uses around those she's comfortable with, those she considers friends; it's almost easy to miss the fact that as she moves, she's checking the gun she's holding – making sure it's loaded, making sure the safety's off.
She stops a few paces away from Misa, her stance broad as she draws her weapon and aims it at the back of Misa's head.]
Goodnight, Captivating.
[The first shot goes straight through the back of her skull, a bright splash of crimson blood hitting the floor in front of her.
Tarrlok continues to hold her still; her body doesn't drop.
Lynne finishes unloading her gun into Misa's body, all of it centered around her upper body, the bullets ripping through both Misa's chest and the Death Note she's been holding so close to her; it's only when she's finished that the grip on her body loosens and she drops to the floor, frail body falling forward lightly and blood pouring out over the white tile.
Tarrlok and Lynne don't move from where they're standing; Lynne glances back at him after a moment, but his eyes remain fixed on Misa's body until the pit goes dark and the lights come back up in the courtroom.]
no subject
All the executions are brutal. She's used to brutal. It's expected. She's seen people die in worse ways, not nearly as quick as these tend to be, long and drawn out; when Misa kneels down due to Tarrlok's hand motions (what is that) and Lynne comes out with a gun Sigrun can't help but turn around at her podium, eyes closed and face tight.
Justice is justice, it's something Misa accepted and would've wanted, maybe, as someone who punished criminals herself... but now her stomach's just rolling after the fact. Of all the people she could have voted, that no one would ever know if she did any different, she'd thought it'd be best to deliver justice the same way they always had.
... Being human sucks.]
